He had been held off the scoresheet in 11 straight games.

Shepard has exclusively served as Leevi Merilainen's backup while Linus Ullmark (personal) has been away from the team, but he will return to Belleville (AHL), with Mads Sogaard coming back in a corresponding move. The 30-year-old Shepard has a 3.16 GAA and .905 SV% in 11 games (5-5-1) with Belleville this season.

With Linus Ullmark (personal) away from the team, the Senators have relied exclusively on Leevi Merilainen, with Hunter Shepard serving as his backup. Sogaard has more NHL experience than Shepard, so Shepard's reassignment to Belleville (AHL) with Sogaard returning could indicate that Ottawa plans to give Merilainen a rest in an upcoming game. The 25-year-old Sogaard has a 3.55 GAA and .879 SV% in 29 career NHL appearances (11-11-3).

Stromgren was drafted in the second round, 45th overall, by the Flames in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. The 22-year-old Swedish forward has yet to play an NHL game and has 29 points (6G / 23A) in 33 games with the Calgary Wranglers (AHL) this season.

Bastian scored three points (2G / 1A) in a four-game conditioning stint with the Texas Stars (AHL) and has been recalled by Dallas. The 28-year-old has three goals in 20 games with Dallas this season.

With Casey DeSmith (personal) returning from a brief leave of absence, Dallas has loaned Poirier back to Texas (AHL). The 24-year-old Poirier is having a decent season in the AHL for a poor Texas team, posting a 2.77 GAA and .903 SV% in 22 games (8-10-4).

Groshev made his NHL debut two weeks ago, recording an assist in 13:03 time-on-ice, but had been a healthy scratch in each game since. The 24-year-old defenseman was a third-round draft pick of the Lightning in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Rifai is an undrafted 27-year-old defenseman that has played two career NHL games. He has spent the majority of the past four season in the AHL, and have two assists in five games with the Marlies in 2025-26.
