Holmstrom had a breakout 2024-25 season, scoring 45 points (20G / 25A) in 75 games, and is producing at a similar, albeit slightly lower rate, in 2025-26, with nine points (4G / 5A) through 19 games. Maxim Tsyplakov will be a healthy scratch to accommodate Holmstom's return.

Greig is battling an undisclosed injury and will miss his first game of the season on Thursday. The 23-year-old Greig has eight points (2G / 6A) in 19 games this season.

Laughton suffered a lower-body injury towards the end of training camp, made his season debut on November 5th, and only played two games before suffering an upper-body injury. The 31-year-old Laughton was limited to only four points (2G / 2A) in 20 games with the Maple Leafs after being acquired before last season's trade deadline. The Maple Leafs hope that he can return to the production he had in his previous two full seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers, when he scored 82 points (31G / 51A) in 160 games.

Borgen returned from a two-game absence due to an upper-body injury on Tuesday, but will return to the sidelines on Thursday. The 28-year-old Borgen has two points (1G / 2A) and is averaging 18:38 time-on-ice through 19 games this season.

The 35-year-old defenseman had five points (1G / 4A) in eight games this season before his injury. He missed 29 games last season, largely due to postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, a condition characterized by an abnormally large increase in heart rate upon sitting up or standing.

Tarasenko has missed three straight games due to a lower-body injury, and has been placed on Injured Reserve retroactive to November 11th. The 33-year-old Tarasenko, in his first season with Minnesota, has 10 points (2G / 8A) in 18 games.

Durzi has not played since the second game of the season, recovering from an upper-body injury, but appears to be nearing a return to the lineup after practicing on Thursday. The 27-year-old Durzi was solid in limited action with Utah last season, scoring 11 points (4G / 7A) in 30 games.

Bertuzzi has not played since November 12th, and was previously a game-time decision for several games, but will draw back into the lineup on Thursday against the Seattle Kraken. The 30-year-old Bertuzzi is off to an excellent start to the 2025-26 season, recording 15 points (9G / 6A), 36 shots, and 17 hits in 16 games.

Hedman has not played since November 8th and is apparently no closer to returning, out week-to-week with an undisclosed injury. The 34-year-old Hedman has 12 points (0G / 12A) through 15 games this season. Darren Raddysh has served as the quarterback on the team's top powerplay unit while Hedman has been sidelined.

Stolarz, originally considered day-to-day, has been sidelined since suffering an upper-body injury on November 11th. The team has not revealed concrete details about his injury, but this latest development suggests he is not close to returning. The 31-year-old Stolarz struggled before his injury, posting a 3.51 GAA and .884 SV% in 13 games (6-5-1). Expect Joseph Woll to see the brunt of the action while Stolarz is sidelined.

Texier has not played since November 6th and has been placed on the designated non-roster list, with Jake Neighbours (lower body) set to return to the lineup. The 26-year-old Texier has one assist while averaging 10:15 time-on-ice through eight games this season.

Neighbours has not played since suffering a lower-body injury on October 25th, but returned to practice on Monday, and appears to be on the verge of returning to the lineup after being activated from Injured Reserve. The 23-year-old Neighbours was off to a hot start to the season before his injury, tallying seven points (6G / 1A) and 20 hits in eight games.

The NHL injury report is updated daily so that you can see the latest injury news ahead of puck drop in any of today’s matchups. Seeing timely updates to the NHL injury report can make a major impact on your daily fantasy sports picks and wagers on a particular game. All information provided on the NHL injury report is provided directly by the NHL and each respective franchise to ensure accuracy.
While the minimum amount of time spent on the injured reserve list is seven calendar days, there is no maximum amount of time that a player can be placed on the injured reserve list. If a player is set to be sidelined for longer than 24 calendar days or 10 NHL games, then a club may opt to place them on the long-term injured reserve instead. This allows franchises with the ability to exceed the salary cap while a player is placed on this reserve list.
No injury recovery timeline is the same as another as there are several factors that go into the rehab process for a player being affected by injury. Factors include but are not limited to, injury severity, player injury/medical history, age, as well as the location of the injury. Some injuries are able to clear up in a matter of days, while others may take an athlete out of action for the entirety of a season.
