Sourdif (upper-body) left Sunday’s game vs. Nashville and did not return.

Sourdif was limited to only 6:17 time-on-ice in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Nashville Predators, exiting the game due to an upper-body injury. The 23-year-old forward was benefit from injuries in recent games, seeing an uptick in deployment, but will now head to the sidelines himself. He has 10 points (6G / 4A) in his last seven games.

Lindgren will start vs. Nashville on Sunday.

Logan Thompson has, without question, been the more consistent Capitals goalie this season, but Lindgren has been effective lately, helping his team record a point in five of his last six games (4-1-1) despite posting a subpar 3.23 GAA and .891 SV% in those games. The 32-year-old Lindgren returned to the crease on Sunday, with the Capitals entering the contest as -140 road favorites against the Nashville Predators.

Justin Sourdif collided with teammate Jakob Chychrun at practice on Thursday and did not return, but both are expected to play on Friday against the Los Angeles Kings. The 27-year-old Chychrun is having a terrific season from Washington's blueline, scoring 32 points (15G / 17A) in 44 games.

McIlrath will be a healthy scratch in Chicago on Friday.

Declan Chisholm will draw back into Washington's lineup on Friday against the Chicago Blackhawks, sending McIlrath back to the sidelines as a healthy scratch. The 33-year-old McIlrath has played only seven games this season but has played more recently, drawing into three of Washington's last six games.

Thompson was serviceable in Washington's most recent game, saving 32 of 35 shots (.914 SV%), but did not receive enough goal support, losing 4-1 to the Dallas Stars. The 28-year-old Thompson is on a season-worst four-game losing streak (0-3-1) and hopes to rebound on Friday against the Chicago Blackhawks. Thompson has a solid 2.40 GAA and .915 SV% in 31 games this season (15-12-4). The Capitals enter the action on Friday as -124 road favorites against a rolling Blackhawks team on a four-game winning streak, which will welcome their leading scorer, Connor Bedard (shoulder), back into the lineup.

Wilson suffered a lower-body injury in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, playing only 5:55 time-on-ice, and has not played since. The bruising 31-year-old forward has missed two games, but could return to the lineup on the team's upcoming two-game road trip. Wilson is having a career season, with 42 points (22G / 20A) in 41 games.

van Riemsdyk has been in and out of the lineup regularly this season and will return to a familiar place on the sidelines as a healthy scratch on Wednesday when the Capitals host the Dallas Stars. The 34-year-old defenseman is averaging 15:38 time-on-ice and has six points (1G / 5A) in 33 games this season.
