Nashville Predators News

Saros is in the starter's crease at Nasvhille's morning skate.

The Predators have had an inconsistent 5-6-2 start to the 2025-26 season but have seen glimpses of promising goaltending from Saros, who will likely return to the crease on Monday against the Vancouver Canucks. The 30-year-old Saros was excellent in his most recent outing, saving 33 of 35 shots (.943 SV%) in a 4-2 win over the Calgary Flames. He has a 2.79 GAA and .905 SV% in 11 games this season (5-4-2). The Predators enter Monday's contest as -117 home favorites against a Canucks team that has struggled at times offensively (2.69 goals per game).

Svechkov will draw back into Nashville's lineup on Thursday in Philadelphia.

Tyson Jost will be a healthy scratch on Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers, allowing Svechkov to re-enter the lineup. The 22-year-old Svechkov has struggled in his second NHL season, recording zero points, 19 shots, and a -5 plus/minus through nine games.

Blankenburg will draw back into Nashville's lineup in Philadelphia on Thursday.

Blankenburg made his season debut for Nashville on October 18th, recording a +1 plus/minus in 12:04 time-on-ice, but has been sidelined since. The 27-year-old Blankenburg played a career-high 60 games with Nashville last season and recorded 16 points (4G / 12A). He draws into the lineup for an injured Adam Wilsby (lower body).

Nick Blankenburg
Wilsby (lower-body) did not participate in Nashville's morning skate and is considered day-to-day.

Wilsby was limited to only 5:36 time-on-ice in Nashville's 5-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday, exiting the game with a lower-body injury. The 25-year-old has two points (0G / 2A) and is averaging 17:49 time-on-ice through 11 games this season.

Saros will start against the Lightning on Tuesday.

The Predators are off to a 4-2-0 start to the 2025-26 season and will turn to Saros between the pipes on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Despite the team's unspectacular start to the season, they have received adequate goaltending from Saros, who is coming off a poor 2024-25 season. The 30-year-old goalie has a 2.68 GAA and .909 SV% in eight games this season (4-2-2). Still, Nashville enters Tuesday's game as +138 home underdogs against a Tampa Bay team seemingly turning a corner, having won two straight after losing six of its first seven (1-4-2).
