The Rangers have reassigned Brady Skjei to Hartford (AHL).

With Marc Staal sidelined for Tuesday’s game, Skjei was recalled and played 22:17 in the Rangers’ loss in New Jersey. His return to the AHL, suggests that Staal will be good-to-go on Thursday. Skye returns to Hartford, where he has 22 points (3G / 19A) in 52 games this season.

The Sabres have placed Ryan O’Reilly (lower-body) on IR.

The Sabres announced that their leading scorer would miss 3-4 weeks, so moving him to IR was the obvious move. A three-week timetable means that O’Reilly will miss the next 10 games. With the Fantasy Hockey playoffs looming, his movement to IR will at least allow owners to stash him and look for an alternative option.
