Tonight he will make his second start vs. the Canucks—in the first meeting he stopped all 25 shots that he faced to record his first shutout of the season.

Gibson missed the last two games with an upper-body injury that he suffered last Saturday in Chicago. Gibson’s return was foreshadowed by Anton Khudobin’s return to San Diego (AHL) on Wednesday. He shut the Canucks out earlier in the year, so don't be surprised if he gets the nod tonight.

Talbot allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Oilers loss to the Ducks on Tuesday. Talbot has dropped four of his last five starts while posting a 3.62 GAA and .881 SV%. Tonight he will make his second start against the Wild—he allowed four goals on 28 shots in a 4-3 loss back in October, but the Wild have struggled as of late.

Faulk will miss his fourth straight game with a leg injury. The Hurricanes said they’re being smart with Faulk’s injury, so he will not travel to Ottawa for Thursday’s game. He remains close to returning, but it won’t come until Friday at the earliest when the Hurricanes return home to play the Sharks.

Gustafsson was a healthy scratch for the last two games, but will replace Viktor Svedberg tonight in New York. Gustafsson has eight assists and a plus-10 rating in 25 games with the Blackhawks this season.

Hurricanes head coach Bill Peters said that Faulk is getting close, but will not play on Tuesday. He is expected to practice again on Wednesday and could be back in the lineup on Thursday in Ottawa.

Talbot allowed two goals on 36 shots in the Oilers win over the Maple Leafs last Thursday. He was sick an didn’t play on Saturday, but will get back in goal tonight vs. the Ducks. Talbot is 3-2-0 with a 2.94 GAA and .912 SV% in February—he was great in his first start vs. Anaheim, stopping 34 of 35 shot in a 1-0 loss.

Gibson suffered an upper-body injury on Saturday, but is not expected to be out longterm. The Ducks have recalled Anton Khudobin from San Diego (AHL) likely to backup Frederik Andersen on Monday.





Talbot allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Oilers loss in New Jersey on Tuesday. He has now lost three in a row while allowing a combined 11 goals on 70 shots (.843 SV%). Despite his recent struggles, he remains a high-end option on Thursday with the Maple Leafs in town. Toronto currently features a lineup with minimal offensive prowess.

Talbot was pulled after he allowed four goals on 20 shots in the Oilers 8-1 loss in Brooklyn on Sunday. Talbot had a rough weekend, giving up eight goals on 43 shots (.814 SV%) in back-to-back losses. Talbot has gone 4-8-3 on the road this season and he’ll face a Devils team that has lost three in a row.

Gibson stopped 23 of 25 shots in the Ducks win in Los Angeles last Thursday. Frederik Andersen got the nod on Saturday, but they’ll go back to Gibson tonight in his hometown. In his first start against the Penguins, he stopped 23 of 24 shots in a 2-1 win. Gibson has gone 4-2-1 with a 1.96 GAA and .918 SV% on the road this season.

Talbot allowed two goals on 38 shots in the Oilers win in Ottawa on Thursday. Talbot has won two in a row while turning aside 72 of 75 shots (.960 SV%) and has been victorious in four of his last six starts. He is a must-start this afternoon against a Canadiens team that has struggled mightily as of late.
