Gibson will start Wednesday vs. the Wild.

Gibson allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Ducks loss to the Kings on Sunday. Gibson has gone 2-3-0 with a 2.54 GAA and .902 SV% in his last five starts. While January hasn’t been kind to Gibson, this is a nice matchup for the 22-year-old. The Wild have lost four in a row and are 2-5-2 while averaging 1.56 goals per game this month.

Talbot starts Monday in Florida.

Talbot allowed one goal on 32 shots in the Oilers win over the Flames on Saturday. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Talbot, who will make his third consecutive start tonight in Florida. Talbot has gone 3-2-1 with a 1.60 GAA and .942 SV% in the month of January—in his only start against the Panthers, he allowed two goals on 14 shots in a 2-1 loss.

Talbot starts Saturday vs. the Flames.

Talbot stopped 36 of 37 shots in the Oilers loss in San Jose on Thursday. It was a tough luck loss for Talbot, who performed exceptionally. Talbot has gone 2-2-1 with a 1.74 GAA and .936 SV% in January and tonight will be his third start against the Flames—he has gone 1-1-0 with a 3.43 GAA and .873 SV% in their first two meetings.

Talbot allowed two goals on 14 shots in the Oilers loss to the Panthers on Sunday. He has lost hie last two games after allowing a combined five goals on 40 shots (.875 SV%). Tonight he gets the call in San Jose—Talbot has gone 2-6-2 with a 3.01 GAA and .901 SV% in cities not name Edmonton this season.

van Riemsdyk will miss 6-8 weeks with a non-displaced fracture in his left foot.

van Riemsdyk suffered the injury in Saturday’s blowout loss in San Jose. JVR leads the Maple Leafs in points with 29 (14G / 15A), but they’ll be without him for at least the next six weeks. Six weeks would have him returning in time for their game on February 23rd vs. Nashville—which means he’ll miss the next 17 games.

Gibson allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Ducks win over the Blues on Friday. Gibson has been victorious in five of his last six starts while posting a 1.56 GAA and .933 SV%. He draws a difficult matchup against a Red Wings team that has won the first three games of their current six-game road trip.

Talbot starts Sunday vs. the Panthers.

Talbot gave up three goals on 26 shots in the Oilers loss to the Lightning Friday. The loss snapped a brief two-game winning streak for Talbot, who is now 2-1-0 with a 1.93 GAA and .933 SV% to start January. He draws a terrible matchup vs. the NHL’s hottest team—the Panthers come in having won 11 in a row while averaging 3.46 goals per game.

Gibson allowed three goals on 25 shots before exiting Wednesday’s game with a lower-body injury. Despite getting hurt, Gibson practiced on Thursday and took part in an optional morning skate today and is good to go. Gibson comes into tonight’s game at 6-3-1 with a 1.75 GAA and .932 SV% on Honda Center ice.

Talbot starts Friday vs. the Lightning.

Talbot stopped all 29 shots in the Oilers shutout win over the Hurricanes on Monday. Talbot has won two in a row while stopping 60 of 63 shots (.952 SV%). Talbot has had a rollercoaster of a season and comes into tonight with a 7-11-2 record, 2.76 GAA and .910 SV% on the season. Tonight he starts vs. the Lightning on home ice, where he is 5-5-0.

Gibson left Wednesday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return.

Gibson was forced to leave the game in the first minute of the third period after Nazem Kadri collided with him. Frederik Andersen replaced Gibson, stopping 12 of 13 shots in the 4-0 loss. Gibson, who was named an All Star on Wednesday, should be considered day-to-day until the Ducks release further information.

Gibson made stopped 19 of 20 shots in the Ducks win over the Jets on Sunday. Gibson has won four straight games while posting a 0.75 GAA and .963 SV%. Gibson has been excellent since being recalled, going 8-4-2 with a 1.63 GAA and .932 SV%. The 22-year-old was chosen as an NHL All Star on Wednesday and tonight he draws a strong matchup vs. the Maple Leafs on home ice.
