Mateychuk was a surprise scratch on Monday, with the team not announcing his absence prior to warmups. Jack Johnson will draw into the lineup in his place.

Johnson will fill in for Denton Mateychuk, who is listed as a scratch. Johnson has appeared in 27 games this season, registering zero goals and two assists.

Romanov returned from a three-game absence in Saturday's 4-1 win over the San Jose Sharks, but remained a game-time decision on Monday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The 25-year-old defenseman is averaging 21:49 time-on-ice, recording nine points (0G / 9A), 70 blocks, and 75 hits in 31 games this season.

McDavid will miss out on the next three games after connecting with a high cross-check on Conor Garland during the scrum at the end of the Canucks and Oilers game on Saturday. It's the second time McDavid has been suspended in his career, after he received a two-game suspension for a high hit on Nick Leddy back in 2019. He will be eligible to return for Edmonton's game against the Kraken on January 27th.

Myers will miss the next three games after connecting with a high cross-check on Evan Bouchard during the melee at the end of the Oilers and Canucks game on Saturday. He will be eligible to return for Vancouver's game in St. Louis on January 27th.

Andersen is set to make his first appearance since October 26th after missing just under three months with a knee injury. It's just the fifth start of the season for the 35-year-old netminder.
