The Penguins acquired Erik Karlsson in a three-way trade with the Sharks and Canadiens.

Karlsson was acquired by Pittsburgh as part of a massive blockbuster trade with involves both San Jose and Montreal. The 33-year-old defensemen is fresh off of winning the 2022-23 Norris Trophy after a season which saw him surpass 100+ points for the first time in his career with 25 goals, 76 assists, 209 SOG, 36 PIMs and a -26 plus/minus through 82 games with San Jose last season. The addition of the superstar brings 178 goals and 761 points in 920 games alongside three Norris Trophies to the Penguins' blue line.

Pittsburgh has signed Ryan Graves to a six-year, $27 million contract ($4,500,000 AAV).

Graves had eight goals, 18 assists, 141 SOG, 28 PIMs and a +34 plus/minus through 78 games played with New Jersey in 2022-23 and has signed a six-year, $27 million contract ($4,500,000 AAV) with Pittsburgh. The 28-year-old led the NHL in plus/minus in 2019-20 with Colorado (+40) and has racked up 28 goals and 100 points across 302 NHL games in his career thus far.

Graves missed the Devils' previous game due to an upper-body injury but was on the ice for morning skate Tuesday and will not play after being a game-time decision ahead of their Game 4 matchup vs. Carolina. The 27-year-old has an assist, seven SOG, four PIMs and a -1 plus/minus through nine games with New Jersey in the playoffs prior to his injury.

Lizotte missed the Kings' morning skate Friday and is expected to be out of the lineup due to a lower-body injury for Game 3 Friday. The 25-year-old has yet to pick up a point through two playoff games this year and is considered day-to-day until there are more updates on his absence.

Trevor van Riemsdyk will be a game-time decision Thursday vs. New Jersey (undisclosed).

van Riemsdyk has missed the Capitals' previous five games due to an undisclosed injury but will be a game-time decision Thursday vs. New Jersey. The 31-year-old is having a career season in 2022-23, with his seven goals, 16 assists, 97 SOG, 15 PIMs and a +10 plus/minus through 75 games this season.

Yegor Chinakhov has been signed to a one-year, $800,000 contract extension for the 2023-24 season.

Chinakhov has four goals, nine assists, 44 SOG, 10 PIMs and a -6 plus/minus through 30 games with the Blue Jackets this season and has signed a one-year, contract extension for the 2023-24 season. The 22-year-old was Columbus' 2020 1st-round pick (21st overall).

Blake Lizotte will return from a one-game suspension for cross-checking Josh Morrisey (WPG) Tuesday.

Lizotte served his one-game suspension for a cross-check on Winnipeg's Josh Morrisey and will return to the Kings' lineup Tuesday vs. Calgary. The 25-year-old had 10 goals, 20 assists, 96 SOG, 64 PIMs and a +9 plus/minus through 72 games played prior to his suspension.

FIlip Hallander has been recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) on an Emergency Basis.

Hallander has 11 goals, 22 assists, 18 PIMs and a +6 plus/minus through 40 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) and has been recalled on an Emergency Basis to Pittsburgh Thursday. The 22-year-old has yet to pick up his first career NHL point across three games played.
