The Kings added that Kuzmenko should be considered day-to-day with the undisclosed injury. Samuel Helenius is also drawing out of the Kings lineup on Thursday, as Taylor Ward and Jeff Malott draw in.

Kuzmenko has regularly been in and out of the lineup lately, but draws back in to replace Quinten Byfield (illness). The 29-year-old Kuzmenko was excellent with the Kings after being acquired before the trade deadline in 2024-25, scoring 17 points (5G / 12A) in 22 games, but has not been able to replicate that success in 2025-26. He played a season-low 6:58 time-on-ice in the Kings' most recent game and has just one point (1G / 0A) in his last 13.

Kuzmenko has remained on the top powerplay unit but has since been heavily protected at even strength, seemingly not having the trust of the Kings' coaching staff. The 29-year-old Kuzmenko was excellent with the Kings after being acquired before the trade deadline in 2024-25, scoring 17 points (5G / 12A) in 22 games, but has not been able to replicate that success in 2025-26. Kuzmenko's ice time has dropped below eight minutes in his last two games, as he has been playing primarily on the fourth line, leading to him being a healthy scratch in the team's last three games (2-1-0). The 29-year-old Kuzmenko has seven points (3G / 4A) in 17 games this season, but has only one point (1G / 0A) in his last eight games.

After struggling in stints with the Calgary Flames and Philadelphia Flyers last season, Kuzmenko found success in his third stop in the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 17 points (5G / 12A) in 22 games with the Los Angeles Kings. The 29-year-old Kuzemnko ended the season with 17 points (5G / 12A) in his last 15 games while playing on the Kings' top line alongside Anze Kopitar and Andrian Kempe.

The Flyers are retaining 50% of Kuzmenko's contract. The impending UFA only had 15 points (4G / 11A) in 37 games with the Flames this season but was much more productive after joining the Flyers, scoring five points (2G / 3A) in seven outings.

Kuzmenko has been in and out of the lineup lately and will return to a familiar place on the sidelines as a healthy scratch on Monday when the Flames visit the Chicago Blackhawks. The 28-year-old Kuzmenko has only one point (0G / 1A) in his last 16 games. Rory Kernis will draw into Calgary's lineup on Monday, replacing Kuzmenko.

Walker Duehr will draw into the lineup on Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks, sending Kuzmenko to the press box as a healthy scratch. Kuzmenko has struggled to produce this season, scoring only 10 points (1G / 9A) in 29 games this season. He has only one point (0G / 1A) in his last 13 games.
