Blais suffered the injury during the Blues' 3-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday. Blais will be re-evaluated in 10 weeks, which means he could miss more than two and a half months. To replace Blais, the Blues announced that they've signed veteran Troy Brouwer to a one-year deal.

Ullmark stopped 21 of 23 shots in the Sabres win over the Senators on Saturday. The win moved Ullmark to 2-1-0 with a. 2.29 GAA and .930 SV% on home-ice. With Carter Hutton struggling, Ullmark is starting to carve out a larger role in the Sabres' crease. He draws a nice matchup on Tuesday with Minnesota going 3-10-0 while scoring just 2.15 goals per game on the road.

He hasn't played a lot this year but has had some strong outings, going 3-3-1 with a .915 SV% overall. A home start against a Senators team that played last night makes Ullmark an intriguing spot-start option.

Blais will get a huge opportunity tonight as he lines up on the first line with Brayden Schenn and Jaden Schwartz, replacing Vladimir Tarasenko. Blais has three goals and two assists (five points) in 10 games this season. The 23-year-old provides even more value in banger leagues, averaging 2.6 hits per game.

Ullmark allowed three goals on 32 shots in the Sabres win in San Jose on Saturday. The Sabres broke their goalie rotation on Thursday but that leaves Ullmark to start the tail-end of a back-to-back in Detroit. The 26-year-old is 2-1-1 with a 3.18 GAA and .913 SV% in his first four starts of the year and has had a lot of success vs. Detroit in his career—3-0-2 with a 2.50 GAA and .924 SV%.

Blais is considered day-to-day with a thumb injury, so Zach Sanford will replace him in the lineup on Thursday. Blais could be back for the Blues' back-to-back on Saturday/Sunday.

Tomasino was selected in the first-round (No.24 overall) in this summer's draft. The 18-year-old centre has had a tremendous start to the 2019-20 season, leading the Niagara IceDogs with 23 points (9G / 14A) in 12 games.

Cousins had 27 points (7G / 20A) in 81 games with the Coyotes last year and signed a one-year, $1.0M AAV deal with the Canadiens this summer. Cousins will make his Montreal debut on the fourth line with Nate Thompson and Nick Suzuki.

Abramov scored a goal in his season debut but returns to the AHL with Mikkel Boedker likely taking his spot in the lineup on Monday. Abramov didn’t have a point in his AHL season debut but had seven points (4G / 3A) in 18 AHL games last year.

Ullmark allowed four goals on 40 shots in the Sabres overtime loss in Columbus on Monday. Ullmark was the Sabres’ best player on the ice by a wide margin and earned himself another start tonight vs. the Sabres. The 26-year-old was 8-6-3 with a 3.48 GAA, .893 SV% and one shutout in 17 games at KeyBank Center last season.

Cousins has not played in the first two games of the season and suffered a back injury in Monday’s practice. Cousins will not travel to Buffalo for Wednesday’s game, so expect their lineup to remain the same from Saturday’s win in Toronto.

Ullmark appeared in a career-high 37 games in 2019-20, going 15-14-5 with a 3.11 GAA and .905 SV%. Carter Hutton has had a strong start to the season, but the Sabres view this as a good time to get Ullmark into the crease. He’ll face a Blue Jackets team that has started the season at 0-2 while being outscored 11-3.

Abramov made his NHL debut with the Senators last year but opened the year with Belleville. With Filip Chlapik and Drake Batherson being re-assigned on Sunday, Abramov comes up and will likely be in the lineup on Thursday. Abramov had 29 points (16G / 13A) in 70 AHL games last season.
