Ullmark missed the last two games due to the death of his father but was back on the ice on Thursday. With Carter Hutton day-to-day with an injury, a heavy-hearted Ullmark could be back in the crease Friday in Washington.
Line Change
Blais (suspension) is expected to draw back into the Blues lineup on Wednesday.
Blais was suspended for two games for his hit on Devon Toews in the season opener but is expected to be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Sharks. Blais is expected to replace Kyle Clifford on the fourth line.
Stützle (undisclosed) is doubtful to play Thursday.
The Senators called Stützle's injury minor on Tuesday but it looks like he'll miss at least two games. Alex Galchenyuk scored while replacing Stützle on Tuesday, so expect him to remain in the lineup on Thursday.
Foegele was added to the COVID-19 protocol list on Tuesday.
The Hurricanes played in Nashville on Monday and had just one player n the COVID-19 protocol list and that was Jordan Staal. On Tuesday, their game with the Predators was cancelled due to four more players being added to that list, Foegele among them. The four players with confirmed positive tests must stay behind in Nashville and observe a 10-day isolation period in the team hotel.
Burakovsky (upper-body) will not play Tuesday in Los Angeles.
Burakovsky is listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury and will not play Tuesday vs. the Kings. With Burakovsky out, Joonas Donskoi will move up to the second line and Erik Johnson will make his season debut as the seventh defenseman.

Amadio is expected to be a healthy scratch Tuesday vs. the Avalanche and will be replaced Lias Andersson, who will make his Kings debut.

A few days after scoring his first career NHL goal, Stützle will sit due to a minor injury. With Stützle out, Alex Galchenyuk will replace him on the second line and second power-play unit.

However, Carter Hutton had a strong training camp and started the first game of the season, suggesting this could still be a tight timeshare. The 27-year-old Ullmark was 11-5-1 with a 2.54 GAA and .919 SV% in 17 starts on home-ice a season ago.

Suspension
The NHL has suspended Sammy Blais for two games for an illegal check to the head on Devon Toews.
The Senators have signed Tim Stuetzle to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Stuetzle was the No.3 overall pick in this year's draft and is currently representing Team Germany at the World Juniors, where he has one goal and one assist in two games thus far. Stuetzle is expected to join the Senators for training camp after the WJC and should start the season in Ottawa.
The Hurricanes signed Warren Foegele to a one-year contract worth $2.15 million.
The Sabres have signed Linus Ullmark to a one-year deal worth $2.6 million.
Given Carter Hutton's struggles since signing with the Sabress, Ullmark has become their No.1 netminder over the last two seasons. He's coming off of a solid campaign in 2020 but ranks tied for 26th in SV% (.910) and tied for 35th in GAA (2.91) since the start of 2019. The Sabres have improved this offseason but Ullmark remains nothing more than a low-end No.2 fantasy netminder.
The Avalanche have re-signed Andre Burakovsky to a two-year extension worth $9.8 million ($4.9M AAV).
Burakovsky earns a nice raise (from $3.25M to $4.9M) after setting career-highs in goals (20), assists (25), points (45) and PPP (11). Burakovsky has found a home in Colorado's top-6, sometimes on a line with Nathan MacKinnon, so he could take his point totals to another level in 2021.
The Predators have signed Nick Cousins to a two-year deal worth $3.0 million ($1.5M AAV).
Cousins will be on his fourth team in three years but has turned into a reliable third-line winger in recent years. Cousins has chipped in 27 and 25 points in each of the last two seasons and should have similar production in Nashville.
