Reimer (head) left Sunday's game and will not return.

Reimer's first start of the season ended early after suffering a head/neck injury in an incidental collision with Rangers' forward Dominic Moore. Reimer had a nice evening going, having stopped 24 of 26 shots, but given his history of neck injuries, the Maple Leafs elected to pull him from the game as a precaution. He left with a 6-2 lead intact.

Reimer leads the Maple Leafs onto the ice for warmups; he starts.

Reimer had a rough year in 2013-14, he went 12-16-1 with a 3.29 GAA and .911 SV% and took a clear backseat to Jonathan Bernier. Tonight, he will look to get the Maple Leafs into the win column. Bernier has allowed nine goals on 64 shots (.877 SV%) so a good start from Reimer could earn him some more playing time early in the season.

Giroux will be out two weeks after suffering a lower-body injury in training camp.

With the start of the season two and a half weeks away, the Flyers caught a break with the severity of their captain's injury. Still, this is not the way Giroux wanted to start his season. However, it should not hurt his value on draft day, he should be ready for the Flyers' season opener on October 8th.

The Senators signed Clarke MacArthur to a five-year extension worth $23.25 million.

MacArthur recorded 24 goals and 31 assists with a plus-12 rating in 79 games with the Senators last season. The 29-year-old has scored 20 goals in each on the last three 82-game seasons so expect fourth straight in 2014-15. On a rundown Senators offence, Mac will once again play a considerable amount of minutes this season.

The Maple Leafs signed goaltender James Reimer to a two-year deal worth $4.6 million on Friday.

Reimer, 26, had a tough season in his first year of a timeshare with Jonathan Bernier. He finished the season 12-16-1 with a 3.29 GAA and .911 SV% which included a stretch of five straight losses when Bernier was injured--a time the Leafs really needed Reimer to step-up. Toronto does not look like the place for Reimer long-term so this deal gives the Maple Leafs a high-end back-up to start the season and the ability to trade him if the right offer comes along.

The Canadiens and Lars Eller avoid arbitration, agreeing to a four-year contract worth $14 million.

Eller, 25, scored 12 goals and added 14 assists (26 points) with a minus-15 rating in 77 games with the Habs last season. It was a less than stellar season when you consider the fact he put up four more points in the shortened season. At $3.5 million per season, the Canadiens will be expecting better production out of the Denmark native over the next four seasons.

Lars Eller
Reimer will start for Toronto.

Remier allowed two goals on 33 shots in a loss to the Lightning on Tuesday. Ouch, this guy just can win this season. While this game is meaningless in the standings, the battle of Ontario is never meaningless to the Sens and Leafs. Each team will be looking for the W tonight.

Reimer starts for the Maple Leafs.

Reimer was tagged with four goals on 41 shots in a 4-2 loss to the Jets on Saturday. Reimer still has not recorded a win in a game he started since January 21st. The Leafs have completely imploded and need to run the table with help to even have a sniff at the playoffs. Reimer will take on a Lightning team who lit him up for five goals on 30 shots two and half weeks ago.

Reimer starts for the Leafs.

Reimer allowed one goal on 11 shots after replacing Jonathan Bernier on Thursday. The Leafs went on to win the game in OT, giving Reimer the W. The last time Bernier was injured, Reimer struggled mightily. With the Leafs season on the brink, he will need to step-up to keep them alive. He will likely start all of Toronto's remaining games.

Reimer leads the Leafs onto the ice for warmups; fifth straight start.

Reimer allowed four goals on 36 shots in a 4-3 loss to the Canadiens last night. Since Jonathan Bernier was injured, Reimer has lost all four starts while posting a 3.77 GAA and .899 SV% (including the LA game). Tonight, he faces a Devils team who have lost four of their last five.

Reimer surrendered five goals on 30 shots in a 5-3 loss to the Lightning on Wednesday. He has given up 11 goals on 93 shots (.882 SV%) during the Leafs three-game slide. Toronto has another crucial matchup tonight with their rivals from Montreal in town. He stopped 34 shots in a 4-3 win over the Habs on opening night.

Reimer leads the Leafs onto ice for warmups; he starts vs. Bishop.

Reimer allowed three goals on 31 shots in a 3-2 loss to the Red Wings last night. Randy Carlyle was not all that pleased with Reimer's performance, but the three goals all came on an odd-man rush or partial breakaway. Tonight, he will face the Lightning at the ACC. He is 1-3-0 with a 3.31 GAA and .915 SV% in his last four outings.
