Ottawa Senators News

Reimer will start in Boston.

Reimer made 40 saves on 41 shots in the Maple Leafs win over the Lightning on Tuesday. Well, who saw that coming? Not me. He has won two in a row for the first time since December 10/14. Can he make in three in a row? We’ll see, but he is 3-13-0 with a 3.40 GAA and .897 SV% on the road this season, so the odds are stacked against the 27-year-old.

Reimer will be in goal on Tuesday.

Reimer gave up three goals on 25 shots in the Maple Leafs 4-3 win over the Senators on Saturday. Yep, I said win. Reimer has made seven starts and six relief appearances at the Air Canada Centre—he has complied a 5-2-0 record, 2.92 GAA and .912 SV% at home this season. Tonight he draws a rough matchup vs. a Lightning team who have five of their last seven.

Perron will not play this afternoon because of an illness.

There was no word prior to warmups that Perron was dealing with an illness, but he will sit this afternoon, so Patric Hornqvist will replace him on the first line. Perron has no points and is a minus-5 in his last five games. Monitor Perron’s status prior to Sunday’s contest.

Reimer starts Saturday vs. the Senators.

Reimer stopped all 11 shots that he faced after replacing Jonathan Bernier in the Maple Leafs loss to the Panthers on Thursday. Reimer has gone 0-2-0 with a 3.70 GAA and .888 SV% in three starts and three relief appearances this month. He has gone 1-1-0 with a 4.24 GAA and .882 SV% in three starts against the Senators this season.

Reimer actually gets the nod Friday vs. the Flames.

It was believed that it would be Bernier tonight, but it will be Reimer. He allowed three goals on 27 shots after replacing Jonathan Bernier in the Maple Leafs loss to the Blues last Saturday. He has not registered a win since February 7th. It has been a terrible season for Reimer, who is 7-14-0 with a 3.18 GAA and .905 SV% on the year.

Coach Horachek leaning towards starting Reimer on Sunday.

Reimer allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Maple Leafs loss in Carolina on February 20th. Jonathan Bernier has started the last three games, but Reimer could go tonight in Washington. Horachek was noncommittal about his starter, so we await his official announcement. Reimer sits 7-13-0 with a 3.15 GAA and .906 SV% on the season.

Reimer starts Friday in Carolina.

Reimer allowed five goals on 39 shots in the Maple Leafs loss to the Rangers on February 10th. Jonathan Bernier has started the last three games, but it will be Reimer tonight in Carolina. Reimer is 1-3-0 with a 2.71 GAA and .900 SV% since the All Star break and could be a decent spot-start tonight if you are feeling risky.
