Nashville Predators prospect Filip Forsberg will, indeed, play for Sweden in the 2014 World Junior Championships.

Head coach Barry Trotz the team would allow him to play in the tournament, provided he’s cleared to return to action. “Only injury can stop him now,” Peter Forsberg, the team’s Vice President, told the Swedish media. The Ostervala, Sweden native has participated in the last two World Junior tournaments and served as his team’s captain last year.

Stamkos (leg) started skating this morning.

Pretty incredible that Stamkos is back on the ice one month and three days after breaking his leg. He was in a track suit this morning, but it is still fantastic news. He will continue to skate as he works his way back and will continue to be monitored closely. He is way ahead of schedule on his recovery which is great news for fantasy owners, the Lightning and Team Canada.

After spending four days at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Lightning C Steven Stamkos returned to Tampa on Thursday, two days after undergoing surgery for a broken right tibia sustained Monday during a game against the Bruins.

There is no an established timetable for Stamkos to recover from his surgery, which included the insertion of a titanium rod the length of the tibia, though he is expected to begin his rehabilitation right away. The normal time frame is 4-6 months, but there is still some optimism that Stammer could be ready to go for the Olympics, so we will see how his recovery goes.

Forsberg posted six points (1G / 5A) during a four-game stint with Milwaukee, reaching the scoresheet in each game. The Predators have assigned Filip Forsberg to AHL Milwaukee.

Forsberg has struggled in his first full season with the Predators. The 19-year-old has one one goal and four assists with a minus-8 rating in 11 games. He has seen his ice time diminish in recent games, so he will head to the AHL where he will see plenty of ice time. Taylor Beck has been recalled with Forsberg going down.

Josi (concussion) will return to the Predators lineup tonight.

Josi missed 10 games after suffering a concussion on a hit by Steve Downie on October 4. He will return to the lineup on the second pair with Kevin Klein. The duo should see 20-plus minutes a night, and if Josi can stay healthy he should push for 25 points in the remaining 70 games.

Roman Josi
Roman Josi (concussion) is considered probable for tomorrow night's game at Phoenix.

Predators head coach Barry Trotz plans to give him "top four" minutes, but did not commit to pairing. Josi, who has missed the last 10 games, has mostly been skating with Kevin Klein in practice. He will likely play 20-plus minutes on a regular basis, and could push for 30 points if he stays healthy for the remaining 70 games.

Josi likely to go on road trip (Oct 31-Nov 15).

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi is getting closer to a return to game action. Josi participated in practice Monday, the fourth time he has skated with the team in the last five days. He has not played in a game since Oct. 4. “It’s always a slow process with a concussion; you have to go slow and see how you feel,” Josi said of the recovery process. “It takes a while. It’s been almost a month now and I’m excited to be back.”

Josi (concussion) has been cleared for contact.

Josi has missed the Predators last 10 games with a concussion suffered on October 4th. He has been cleared for contact, which suggest he will return to the lineup shortly. Josi was skating with Kevin Klein in practice this morning, which likely means rookie Seth Jones will stick with Shea Weber.
