Pitlick suffered an injury vs. the Sabres last Saturday and was set to miss his second straight game tonight. His move to IR created a roster spot for Radek Faksa and Brett Ritchie to return to the lineup tonight.

Pitlick suffered an upper-body injury in Saturday’s game vs. the Sabres and it will keep him sidelined on Monday. With Pitlick out, Jamie Oleksiak will draw into the lineup as a forward.

McCarron, 22, was a first round pick (No.25 overall) in 2013 and has appeared in 51 career NHL games, recording just seven points (2G / 5A). The 6-foot-6, 230 lbs. forward has registered two goals and two assists in six games with the Laval Rocket so far this year. He comes up because Ales Hemsky is dealing with an upper-body injury.

Foligno dropped the mitts with Blackhawks’ forward John Hayden and was absolutely devastated by a right haymaker, fracturing a facial bone in the process. Foligno joins a long list of injured Wild forwards, but is only expected to miss a week or so.

Foligno was absolutely blasted by a John Hayden haymaker in a fight last night and may have suffered a facial fracture. Foligno could miss some time beyond Saturday’s game vs. Columbus.

Pickard was placed on waivers on Thursday and cleared Friday afternoon. The Maple Leafs waited for him to clear because now they can send him to the Toronto Marlies (AHL) and keep him in their system. This is a smart move for Toronto, who’s current backup goaltender is veteran Curtis McElhinney, who has had his fair-share of struggles during his career.

Bogosian has had a terrible time with injuries during his career, missing a combined 64 games over the last three seasons. With Bogosian out, Matt Tennyson will be on the blueline, paired with Marco Scandella.

Pitlick has split his time between the AHL and NHL in his first three professional seasons. Last year he had 21 points (7G / 14A) in 37 games with Bakersfield and 11 points (8G / 3A) in 31 games with Edmonton. He is a capable scorer with good size (6-foot, 202 lbs) who brings some offence and some upside to the Stars bottom-6.

Foligno is a big-body (6’2” / 215 lbs.) that has improved offensively in each of his six NHL seasons, setting a new career-high in goals (13) and tying a career-best in points (23) a season ago. Foligno will likely take Pominville’s spot as a third line winger in Minnesota, but doesn’t offer nearly any fantasy value due to his limited power play exposure.
