Fabbri (lower-body) will not play on Thursday.

Fabbri was hurt in a knee-on-knee collision with Jack Hughes on Tuesday and will not play on Thursday. Fabbri was able to avoid serious injury, so consider him as day-to-day. Sam Gagner will make his Red Wings debut to replace Fabbri in the top-6.

Fabbri was forced to leave Tuesday's game after a knee-on-knee hit from Jack Hughes.

Given Fabbri's history of knee injuries, it was obviously a big scare for the Red Wings. However, Dylan Larkin seemed to indicate that Fabbri was doing O.K. but head coach Jeff Blashill had no update on the winger. Expect an update prior to Thursday's game vs. the Wild.

Petersen will start Sunday vs. the Oilers.

Petersen allowed five goals on 34 shots in the Kings loss in Winnipeg last Tuesday. Since coming up from the AHL, Petersen has lost two of his three starts and has posted a sub-optimal 5.02 GAA and .853 SV%. To make matter worse, tonight he will face an Oilers team that gets Connor McDavid back. Look elsewhere.

Johansson (illness) will be back in the Sabres lineup on Tuesday.

Johansson missed Monday's game vs. the Ducks but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Red Wings. Johansson, who has 22 points (6G / 16A) in 48 games this season, will start on the second line with Curtis Lazar and Conor Sheary and return to his spot on the top-PP unit.

Fabbri (jaw) is questionable to play on Tuesday.

Fabbri left Sunday's game vs. the Bruins after being hit by Chris Wagner and did not return. Head coach Jeff Blashill clarified that Fabbri is dealing with a jaw injury and is questionable to play Tuesday in Buffalo. Luckily for the Red Wings, they will be getting Anthony Mantha back.

Petersen will start Saturday in New Jersey.

Following the trade of Jack Campbell to the Maple Leafs, Petersen makes his return to the NHL. Petersen appeared in 11 NHL games last year, going 5-4-1 with a 2.61 GAA and .924 SV%. He hasn't had the same level of success in the AHL this year, going 17-15-4 with a 3.43 GAA and .906 SV%. Tonight he'll make his season debut vs. a Devils team that is on a five-game point streak, going 2-0-3 over that span.
