Talbot will start the Oilers season opener on Wednesday.

In his first year as the Oilers’ starter, Talbot was 21-27-5 with a 2.55 GAA and .917 SV% while playing behind the 19th ranked possession team. The 29-year-old proved that he is a capable No.1 and the Oilers’ all-around improvement this season should lead to even better numbers. His 2016-17 season starts against a Calgary team that he struggled against last season—2-2-0 with a 3.17 GAA and .892 SV%.

The Blues have signed David Perron to a two-year deal worth $7.5 million ($3.75M AAV).

Perron, 28, was a first round pick of the Blues back in 2007 and spent the first six years of his career in St. Louis. Since then he has played for the Oilers, Penguins and Ducks, but has returned to the Blues. He is coming off of a 12-goal, 24-assist season with the Pens and Ducks and should slide right back into the Blues’ top-9.

Perron (shoulder) will return to the Ducks lineup for Game 1.

Perron has been sidelined with a separated shoulder since March 20th, but returns just in time for the start of the playoffs. The 27-year-old has enjoyed life in Anaheim, collecting 20 points (8G / 12A) in 28 games since being traded by Pittsburgh. He will skate on the left side of Ryan Getzlaf with Chris Stewart on the other wing.

Talbot allowed two goals on 27 shots in the Oilers win over the Canucks in the final game at Rexall Place. Talbot has gone 21-27-4 with a 2.55 GAA and .917 SV% in his first season with the Oilers. Tonight he faces the Canucks again—he is 2-0-1 with a 1.31 GAA and .956 SV% in three starts vs. Vancouver this season.

Gibson will start Thursday vs. the Kings.

Gibson allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Ducks loss to the Jets on Tuesday. He has won three of his last five starts while posting a 1.45 GAA and .945 SV%. With Frederik Andersen still sidelined, Gibson will go again tonight in Los Angeles. The 22-year-old has gone 2-1-0 with a 2.34 GAA and .913 SV% in three starts against the Kings this season.

Gibson will start Tuesday vs. the Jets.

Gibson made 24 saves on 25 shots in the Ducks win over the Stars on Sunday. Gibson has won three of his last four starts while posting a 1.33 GAA and .951 SV%. Gibson faces a Jets team that has lost four of their last five—the 22-year-old has gone 13-7-2 with a1.80 GAA and .931 SV% in 21 starts on home ice this season.

Gibson will likely start Friday vs. the Canucks.

Gibson stopped all 21 shots that he faced in the Ducks win over the Flames on Wednesday. Gibson was pulled in favour of Frederik Andersen midway through the game, only to return after Andersen suffered a concussion. Gibson draws a strong matchup against a Canucks team that has lost nine of their last 10 games and come in on a back-to-back.

Hamonic will miss the rest of the regular season with a lower-body injury.

Hamonic suffered a lower-body injury after a knee-on-knee collision in Thursday’s win over the Blue Jackets. Hamonic will miss the rest of the regular season and will be re-evaluated before the playoffs start. Hamonic will be replaced by Marek Zidlicky in Saturday’s game.

Gibson will start Wednesday vs. the Flames.

Gibson turned aside 27 of 28 shots in the Ducks win in Edmonton on Monday. Gibson has gone 3-3-1 wit ha 2.09 GAA and .920 SV% in March. Tonight he will make his fourth start against Calgary—he is a perfect 3-0-0 with a 1.06 GAA and .948 SV% in the first three meetings.

Gibson allowed four goals on 23 shots in the Ducks loss in Montreal last Tuesday. Gibson has gone 2-3-1 with a 2.26 GAA and .913 SV% in March. Tonight he makes his second start vs. the Oilers, in the first meeting he stopped all 21 shots that he faced in a 1-0 shutout win. Edmonton has lost rare of their last four games.
