Slavin was only sent down for one game and the Hurricanes must like what Slavin brought to the team versus what Ryan Murphy did on Thursday. Savin had one assist in six games with the Hurricanes before he was sent down.

Hall was listed as a game-time decision because of an illness, but whatever was bothering him this morning didn’t keep him out of tonight’s game. Rob Klinkhammer continues to sit with Hall now playing.
Hall was not on the ice for the Oilers’ morning skate and his status for tonight’s game is in question. Hall is battling an illness, which could force him out of action. If he can’t play, expected Rob Klinkhammer to draw into the lineup and for Lauri Korpikoski to move up into the top six.
Ehlers, 19, was the Jets first round pick (9th overall) in last summer’s entry draft. He had 101 points (37G / 64A) in 51 games with Halifax this season. In the playoffs, he registered 31 points (10G / 21A) in 14 games before they were eliminated. Ehlers is not expected to play, but he has been recalled to get an off-ice feel of NHL playoff hockey.
Hall skated in a full team session for the first time since early February. Hall was unable to provide a timeline for his return, but he said he is feeling better. He is going to continue to skate and see how his ankle responds before his return is imminent.
Fast missed nearly one month with a knee injury that he suffered on February 7th. He will return on the Rangers fourth line tonight vs. the Predators. Fast has nine points (3G / 6A) in 37 games this season.
Martinook, 22, was the Coyotes second round pick (58th overall) in 2012. He has 11 goals and 17 assists (28 points) in 44 games with Portland this season. He has not recorded a point in two NHL games.
Hall suffered the fracture in San Jose while he was trying to return from bone bruise in his ankle. He will be out until mid-to-late March. This is a terrible break for Hall owners.
Hall was not expected to play on Tuesday anyways, so his movement to IR was just a formality. Hall is eligible to be activated from IR as soon as he is healthy.
Fast missed Sunday’s game after spraining his knee on Saturday in Nashville. With Fast out, J.T Miller should remain in the lineup for the foreseeable future. Fast will likely miss at least the next six games.
Hall has missed the last two games and his return to Edmonton on Sunday suggests that he will miss both Monday and Tuesday’s games on the East Coast. With the Oilers season in the dumps, they will not rush their star winger back into the lineup for no reason.
A knee sprain pretty much guarantees that Fast will not be in the lineup tomorrow vs. Dallas. Coach Vigneault said that he will know more tomorrow, but a sprained knee should sideline him for at least one week.
Hall was listed as doubtful so it is not very surprising that Hall is not on the ice for the morning skate. It looks like he will miss his second straight game and fifth of the last six. Teddy Purcell will skate on the Oilers top-line with Hall out.
Hall missed another practice on Friday and coach Todd Nelson called him “highly unlikely” to play on Saturday. Hall remains day-to-day and needs to get in some practice before he returns.
Hall missed Wednesday’s game against Pittsburgh with a lower-body injury that he re-aggregated on Monday in San Jose. He was reportedly receiving treatment while his teammates practiced this afternoon, so there is no word on whether he will be available on Saturday.
