Lewington has been called up several times this season and has appeared in a total of six NHL games and two AHL games, failing to record a point in all eight games. He will likely serve as an extra defenseman in New York on Wednesday night.

Sgarbossa has spent most of his career in the AHL, where he's been a prolific scorer, but has just 10 points (2G / 8A) in 48 career NHL games with the Avalanche, Ducks and Panthers. The 27-year-old forward has 14 points (7G / 7A) to lead Hershey through 17 games this season. He could replace Garnet Hathaway in the lineup on Wednesday if Hathaway gets suspended.

Washington continues to dance around the salary cap and Malenstyn is among their latest call-ups. The 2016 fifth-round pick has three goals and three assists (six points) in 18 AHL games this season and doesn't figure to make his NHL debut on Wednesday.

Washington was forced to send Samsonov to the AHL because they needed a 12th forward and Samsonov's cap-hit is higher than Vitek Vanecek's who backed up Braden Holtby for the last two games. Samsonov will likely reassume that duty on Wednesday night.

Schneider's game has completely fallen apart in recent years, as he's gone 6-27-7 with league worsts in GAA (3.55) and SV% (.885) in his last 44 appearances. Unless he goes to Binghamton and completely reinvents himself, this could be the last we see of Cory Schneider.

With Matt Calvert out indefinitely, Greer is expected to make his season debut on Tuesday. Greer has two goals and nine AHL games this season and has picked up six points (1G / 5A) in 37 career games with the Avalanche.

With Philipp Grubauer and/or Pavel Francouz expected to return on Tuesday, Werner heads back to the AHL where he has gone 5-4-0 with a. 2.88 GAA and .908 SV%. He had one great outing and one terrible game during his time with Colorado.

Conacher has scored five goals with seven assists (12 points) in 16 AHL games this season. Conacher has been a predominately AHL player throughout his career, collecting 303 points (117G / 186A) in 324 career AHL games. He has also scored 28 goals with 46 assists (74 points) in 189 career NHL games with the Lighting, Senators, Sabres and Islanders.

Toninato appeared in three games with Panthers earlier this season before returning to the AHL. The 22-year-old forward has scored five goals with three assists (eight points) in 15 games with Springfield this season and will replace Dryden Hunt on the Panthers fourth line on Tuesday.

Veronneau, who had four points (2G / 2A) in 12 NHL games with the Senators last season but stared 2019-20 in the AHL. The 23-year-old has three goals and three assists in 14 AHL games and will likely make his season debut in Detroit on Tuesday.

With Trevor Moore going on IR with a shoulder injury, Engvall gets his first career NHL call-up. The 2014 seventh-round pick has been surprising this season, tying for the Marlies team-lead with 16 points (7G / 9A) in 15 games.

Hunt appeared in all 20 games this season, picking up just four assists and 32 shots while playing 10:47 ATOI. He goes back to Springfield, where he dominated last season, posting 44 points (23G / 21A) in 51 games.

Persson has two assists in 10 games with the Oilers this season. The undrafted free agent appears to have lost his NHL job to Caleb Jones for now.

Olivier has scored two goals with five assists in 17 games with Milwaukee this season. The undrafted free agent could make his NHL debut vs. the Jets on Tuesday.
