Winnipeg Jets News

Comrie will start against the Blues on Tuesday.

After a miserable 3-15-5 record, the Jets have seemingly turned a corner, winning five of their last six (5-0-1), and will turn to Comrie on Tuesday in the tail-end of a back-to-back. Comrie struggled during the Jets' recent slide down the standings, posting a 3.52 GAA and .866 SV% in 11 games (2-8-1), but was solid in his most recent outing, saving 23 of 24 shots (.958 SV%) in a 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings. The Jets enter Tuesday's contest as -121 home favorites against a St. Louis Blues team coming off a 5-0 loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

Hellebuyck will start in Chicago on Monday.

Hellebuyck allowed three unanswered goals, four total on 37 shots (.892 SV%), on route to a 4-3 overtime loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs in his most recent game. That said, by helping the Jets collect a point, he improved to 3-0-1 in his last four games, a noteworthy turnaround after going 0-6-4 in his previous 10. The 32-year-old Hellebucyk has not been his usual dominant self lately, posting a 3.12 GAA and .883 SV% in his last 14 games (3-6-5). The Jets enter Monday's contest as -132 home road favorites against a Chicago Blackhawks team that has been outscored 12-4 in their last three games (0-3-0).

Hellebuyck will start in Minnesota on Thursday.

Hellebuyck is on a two-game winning streak, snapping a miserable 10-game losing skid (0-6-4), but has remained unspectacular between the pipes. The 32-year-old Hellebuyck, a three-time Vezina Trophy winner, has a dreadful sub-.900 SV% in 10 consecutive games (2-5-3). The Jets enter the action on Thursday as +124 road underdogs against a Minnesota Wild team coming off a disappointing 5-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils in their previous game.

Barron (upper-body) will return in Minnesota on Thursday.

Barron has not played in a week, but will return to the lineup on Thursday against the Minnesota Wild. The 27-year-old forward is averaging 12:57 time-on-ice and has 14 points (7G / 7A) in 36 games this season. Danny Zhilkin will be the odd man out of the lineup as a healthy scratch.

Salomonsson will draw back into Winnipeg's lineup in Minnesota on Thursday.

With Colin Miller (lower body) and Neal Pionk (undisclosed) out week-to-week, the Jets have recalled Salomonsson from the Manitoba Moose (AHL). The 21-year-old Salomonsson made his NHL debut earlier this season, averaging 14:44 time-on-ice in four games.

Miller (lower-body) is considered week-to-week.

Miller exited Sunday's 4-3 win over the New Jersey Devils late in the first period because of a lower-body injury and he has subsequently been placed on Injured Reserve. The 33-year-old defenseman is averaging 13:45 time-on-ice and has one assist in 15 games this season. Winnipeg recalled Phillips from Manitoba (AHL) in a corresponding move.

Pionk (undisclosed) is considered week-to-week.

Pionk showed no signs of an ailment in yesterday's 5-4 win over the New York Islanders, recording an assist in 20:21 time-on-ice, but will be out of the lineup on a week-to-week basis. The 30-year-old defenseman is averaging 22:47 time-on-ice and has eight points (2G / 6A) in 40 games this season.

Hellebuyck will start against the Islanders on Tuesday.

The Jets have the worst record in the NHL since mid-November (5-15-5), but hope their current two-game winning streak is a sign of an upward trend. Hellebuyck, their three-time Vezina Trophy-winning goalie, has not impressed lately as well, posting an ugly 3.33 GAA and .864 SV% in his last nine outings (1-5-3). That said, the Jets enter Tuesday's contest as -121 home favorites against a New York Islanders team that has points in four straight games (3-0-1).
