He hasn’t had a lot of work this season, but he has played OK when called upon. Tonight he takes on a Penguins team that has lost three of four.

With Ben Bishop battling an undisclosed injury, Vasilevskiy will start his first game since December 15th. He was with Syracuse (AHL) as of yesterday, but is back up and will face the Wild tonight. Vasilevskiy is 3-4-0 with a 2.94 GAA and .907 SV% this season and takes on a Wild team that has won three of their last four.



In Vasilevskiy’s last start, he was pulled after allowing two goals on 10 shots. He is 2-4-0 with a 2.76 GAA and .910 SV%w with the Lightning this season, but recently returned from the AHL where he went 0-1-1 with a 3.47 GAA and .892 SV% in two starts. He has struggled this year, but draws a nice matchup tonight in Toronto.




Vasilevskiy allowed one goal on eight shots after replacing the injured Ben Bishop in the Lightning’s win last night. It will be Vasilevskiy’s first start since November 27th, when he gave up four on 33 in a loss in Washington. Valiseskiy is 2-3-0 with a 2.55 GAA and .917 SV% in five starts this season.

Vasilevskiy allowed one goal on 20 shots in the Lightning’s loss in Florida on November 16th. Vasilevskiy has won two of four while posting a 2.03 GAA and .929 SV% this season. He draws a terrible matchup in Washington.


Girgensons remains day-to-day with an upper-body injury and will miss his fourth consecutive game tonight vs. the Blues.

Girgensons was held out of the lineup on Tuesday and is expected to miss at least the next two games with an undisclosed injury. With Girgensons out, look for Tim Schaller to remain in the lineup.

Girgensons missed Monday’s practice and was not on the ice for the Sabres’ morning skate which suggests that he will not be in the lineup tonight vs. the Stars. If Girgensons can’t go, look for Tim Schaller to get back into the lineup.
