McCann has missed the last five games with a lower-body injury, but will play tonight vs. the Rangers. McCann will centre the third line with Jamie McGinn and Nick Bjugstad on his wings.

McCann will miss his fifth straight game with a lower-body injury, but has not been ruled out for Saturday’s game vs. the Rangers. McCann had a nice start to the season, collecting two goals and three assists (five points) in seven games, providing the Panthers with plenty of secondary offence.

Murray was yanked after allowing four goals on nine shots in the Penguins’ blowout loss in Winnipeg on Sunday. October was a mixed bag of results for Murray, who finished the month with a 3.05 GAA and .903 SV% in 11 games. He started vs. the Oilers last Tuesday and stopped 29 of 30 shots in the 2-1 OT win.

McCann has missed the last four games, but returned to the ice on Wednesday and could be back in the lineup tomorrow. McCann has not been cleared, but practicing today is a good sign he is close to a return. Monitor his status tomorrow morning.

McCormick was recalled prior to Monday’s contest but was held out of the lineup as a healthy scratch. It could have been a cap move to send him down and he could be “recalled” prior to Thursday’s game vs. the Red Wings.


The Senators had the weekend off so they sent McCormick down for salary savings but have recalled him for Monday’s game vs. Montreal. The 25-year-old has no points in two NHL games but has picked up one goal and two assists (three points) in seven AHL contests.

Murray allowed just one goal on 30 shots in the Penguins victory vs. the Oilers on Tuesday. Murray has ripped off six straight wins and comes into tonight’s meeting with the Jets at 3-0-1 with a 2.23 GAA and .934 SV% in four starts at PPG Paints Arena this season.

The 23-year-old has yet to lose in regulation this season and tonight he takes on Connor McDavid and Oilers, who have stumbled out of the gate.

McCann has had a really nice start to 2017-18, posting a two goals and three assists (five points) in seven games. If McCann can’t play, look for Denis Malgin to draw in as the third line centre.



Oleksiak was a healthy scratch in the last two games, but will get back into the lineup tomorrow in Arizona. Oleksiak has yet to record a point while averaging 16:46 TOI/GM in the first four games of the season. He will replace Julius Honka.
