Kaut has picked up two assists in his first two AHL games this season and could make his season debut with Colorado on Tuesday. The Avalanche played with just 11 forwards on Saturday, so both Kaut and Mikhail Maltsev should draw in vs. the Capitals.

Klingberg is day-to-day with a lower-body injury that he suffered in the Stars' season opener. Stars head coach Rick Bowness is hoping that Klingberg will be back either tomorrow in Ottawa or Tuesday in Pittsburgh.

Gaudette was a healthy scratch in the Blackhawks season opener but will replace Ryan Carpenter in the lineup on Friday. Gaudette impressed after being traded to Chicago late last season, scoring one goal with three assists in just seven games. However, a bottom-6 role likely won't lead to a whole lot of production in 2021-22.

Svechnikov was in Jets' training camp on a PTO and earned a one-year deal. Svechnikov is a former first-round pick (No.19 overall) of the Detroit Red Wings but injuries stunted his development over the years. In 41 career NHL games with Detroit, the 24-year-old had five goals and seven assists (12 points).

White was injured in Monday's preseason game and will require surgery to repair a dislocated shoulder and will be out until at least early-February. With White out, the Senators signed Tyler Ennis to a one-year deal worth $900K to fill his spot on the roster for the start of the 2021-22 season.

According to a post by Price's wife on Instagram, Carey is taking a step back to focus on his mental health. We wish Price all the best and hope to see him back on the ice soon. While he's away, Jake Allen will become the Canadiens' No.1 netminder and Cayden Primeau/Samuel Montembeault will work behind him.

The Sharks are hopeful that Knyzhov will be able to start skating on his own by the end of the week. Knyzhov isn't expected to be available for the preseason, putting his status for the Sharks' season opener in doubt. With Knyzhov likely out, Santeri Hatakka or Jacob Middleton could make the team out of training camp.

Gaudette was acquired from the Canucks for Matthew Highmore in April and contributed one goal and three assists in seven games with the Blackhawks. Gaudette will be battling with the likes of Henrik Borgstrom, Brett Connolly and Alex Nylander for playing time in 2021-22.

Carlsson was a fourth-round pick of the Blackhawks and was traded to the Panthers as part of the deal that sent Henrik Borgstrom and Brett Connolly to Chicago. Carlssson had one assist in 12 games with the Blackhawks last year, as well as 12 points (3G / 9A) in 18 games between his two AHL homes. The Panthers don't have the strongest blueline at the moment, so he could factor into their top-6 at some point in 2021-22.

After reports of potentially career-ending knee and hip injuries, the Canadiens received some great news on Price's status this week. He will not need surgery on his hip but underwent surgery on his knee and is expected to be ready for training camp next year. After a tough regular season, Price turned in a stellar postseason, going 13-9 with a 2.28 GAA and .924 SV%.

Sherwood split his 2020-21 campaign between the AHL and NHL. Sherwood played as a point-per-game player with 16 points (10G / 6A) in 16 games with the Colorado Eagles (AHL) but struggled to find the same level of offence with the Avalanche. Depending on what the Avlanahce do with their $20.26M in cap-space, Sherwood could have a spot on the NHL roster to start 2021-22 season.
