San Jose Sharks News

The Islanders have acquired Nick Leddy and Kent Simpson from the Blackhawks for TJ Brennan, Ville Pokka and goaltender Anders Nilsson.

Leddy, 23, had seven goals with 24 assists (31 points) in 82 games with the Blackhawks last season. Leddy has never missed a regular season game in three NHL seasons and should be in the Isles' top-4 with a lot of power-play time.

Price (leg) took shots in Canadiens' practice on Tuesday morning.

Price was on the ice for a second straight day, but it was his first practice in full gear since suffering a leg injury in game 1. He has already been ruled out for the rest of the Eastern Conference Final, but this is a step in the right direction for Price, who could be available for the Stanley Cup Final if the Habs can dig themselves out of a 3-1 hole.

Carey Price
Price (leg) will miss the remainder of the Eastern Conference Final.

Price was injured in a collision with Chris Kreider in game 1, and will now miss the rest of the series. Head coach Michel Therrien said it best this morning when he said "we lost our best player". This injury is devestating for the Habs, who look to bounce back from a 7-2 loss in game 1. Now their fate rests in the hands of Petee Budaj.

Carey Price
Price (leg) is not on the ice for the Canadiens' morning skate.

Price did not return for the third period in game 1 after he appeared to injure his leg during a collision with Rangers' forward Chris Kreider. Price's absence at the morning skate should not be too alarming. He has skipped morning skates throughout the playoffs and played, he was also one of six players who didn't take part. We will wait to see what head coach Michel Therrien has to say about Price's availability, but we will likely have to wait until pre-game warmups, to find out if he or Peter Budaj starts game 2.

Price will start game 7 for the Canadiens.

Price stopped all 26 shots that he faced in the Habs 4-0 win over the Bruins in game 6. The win moved Price to 4-0-1 at the Bell Centre this postseason, but he will need another great outing tonight if he is going to make another start in that building. Price enters play tonight with a 2.21 GAA and .931 SV% in the series.

Carey Price
Price will start the all important game 6 for Montreal.

Price surrendered four goals on 34 shots in a the 5-3 loss in game 2. With 10 minutes left in the game the Habs were up 3-1, but three unanswered goals in 5:32 gave the Bruins a 4-3 edge, that they added an empty netter to. Despite the loss, Price played very well again, but the Habs were playing very conservatively in the third and it cost them. The series now shifts back to Montreal, where Price is 2-0 with a 2.50 GAA and .904 SV% this postseason.

Carey Price
Price leads the Habs onto the ice and starts game 2.

Price stopped 48 of 51 shots in the 4-3 double OT win in game 1. He was sensational and the main reason why the Habs pulled out the W. The Canadiens can't expect to allow 50-plus shots and come away victorious on a regular basis, so look for them to make some adjustments to buckle down in their own end this afternoon.

Price gets the call in goal vs. the Bruins in game 1.

The Canadiens were able to get rid of the Tampa Bay Lightning in four games and have been off for eight days. The will need to come out with no rust as they face the big, bad Bruins. Price back in goal for game 2.

Price allowed four goals on 25 shots in game 1. Despite Price's lackluster performance, the Canadiens were able to emerge with the 5-4 OT win. Expect Price to be more sharp in game 2 tonight. Ben Bishop is still sidelined so the Habs will once again have a large edge between the pipes.

Carey Price

Price stopped 28 of 30 shots in a 2-0 loss to the Islanders on Thursday. The Habs could not solve Evgeni Nabokov at the other end of the ice. It was Price's second loss in three games, but he has still recorded the W in eight of his last 11. He looks poised to carry the Habs into the playoffs and add a Stanley Cup to his already impressive 2013-14 resume.

In those seven games Price has posted a 2.59 GAA and .921 SV%. If that wasn't enough to convince you he is a must-start, he has gone 1-0-2 with a ridiculous 1.23 GAA and .962 SV% vs. the Lightning this season.

Carey Price
Price is the Canadiens confirmed starter.

Price surrendered four goals on 30 shots in a 5-4 win over the Red Wings on Thursday. This is becoming a trend for Price. Give up three-plus goals, but still walk away with the W. He has won five of six with a 2.85 GAA and .911 SV%, but five of those six he has allowed three-plus, the one shutout really skews his GAA. He makes for a strong start vs. Dan Ellis and the Panthers.
