The Senators have placed Alex Formenton (concussion) on injured reserve.

Formenton left Wednesday’s loss to the Flyers with what was originally described as an upper-body injury. The Senators confirmed on Friday that Formenton sustained a concussion and will head to injured reserve. There is no timetable for his return, but he will miss at least one week.

Reimer will start Thursday vs. the Blue Jackets.

Reimer allowed one goal on 16 shots after replacing Roberto Luongo in the Panthers’ shootout loss last Saturday. With Luongo out, Reimer will take over as Florida’s No.1 netminder going forward. Tonight the Panthers host a Blue Jackets team that is 2-1-0 while averaging 3.00 goals for in their first three games.

Tkachuk (groin) is expected to make his NHL debut on Monday.

Tkachuk missed the first two games of the season with a mild groin injury, but will be on the Senators first-line with Matt Duchene and Ryan Dzingel this afternoon. This summer’s No.4 overall pick had 31 points (8G / 23A) in 40 games at Boston University last year.

There is no word on when Tkachuk suffered the injury, but it looks like his NHL debut will be put on hold fo now. This summer’s fourth overall pick had 31 points (8G / 23A) in 40 games at Boston University and is expected to skate on the second line with Mark Stone and Zack Smith when he is healthy.

The Senators select Brady Tkachuk with the No.4 overall pick.

The brother of Flames’ winger Matthew Tkachuk, Brady had eight goals and 23 assists (31 points) at Boston University this season. Tkachuk elevated his stock during a great World Juniors tournament, where he had nine points (3G / 6A) in seven games. Like his dad Keith, Brady is a big-bodied forward with a great size/skill combo. He will have a chance to make the NHL this fall.

Reimer led the Panthers onto the ice for warmups.

Reimer allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Panthers overtime loss in Ottawa on Thursday. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for Reimer, who will go again today in Boston. He posted a 46-save shutout in a 3-0 shutout win over the Bruins on March 15th.

Reimer will start Saturday vs. the Coyotes.

Reimer allowed two goals on 35 shots in the Panthers win in Ottawa on Tuesday. It was another strong outing for Reimer, who has stopped 79 of 81 shots (.975 SV%) since returning to the crease. With Roberto Luongo a little banged up, Remier will start for the third time in six games tonight vs. the Coyotes.

Ullmark will start Friday vs. the Canadiens.

Ullmark allowed one goal on 13 shots after replacing Chad Johnson in the Sabres 4-1 loss to the Coyotes on Wednesday. In three NHL appearances this season, Ullmark has posted a 2.40 GAA and .933 SV% and makes for a decent spot-start option tonight vs. the visiting Canadiens—Montreal has lost four in a row and nine of their last 10 (1-7-2).

Ullmark was outstanding in his season debut back on January 11th. Ullmark, who is the Sabres goalie of the future, stopped 44 of 45 shots in a 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets and tonight he will make his second NHL start of 2018. The 24-year-old has gone 20-11-4 with a 2.44 GAA, .923 SV% and two shutouts in 42 games with Rochester (AHL) this season.

Ullmark was outstanding in his season debut back on January 11th. Ullmark, who is the Sabres goalie of the future, stopped 44 of 45 shots in a 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets and tonight he will make his second NHL start of 2018. The 24-year-old has gone 20-11-4 with a 2.44 GAA, .923 SV% and two shutouts in 42 games with Rochester (AHL) this season.

Reimer stopped all 46 shots that he faced in the Panthers shutout win over the Bruins last Thursday. It was a spectacular return to the crease for Reimer, who will look to extend his personal winning streak to three. The 30-year-old stopped all 38 shots that he faced in a 1-0 shutout win in his first start against the Senators in 2017-18.
