Ullmark was scheduled to start last night, but Robin Lehner returned from concussion protocol to take the Sabres’ crease. He returns to Rochester, where he has gone 20-20-2 with a 2.90 GAA and .910 SV% this season.

Burakovsky has been sidelined by a hand injury since February 9th and was placed on IR on Thursday in order to recall Riley Barber from Hershey (AHL). Burakovsky is expected to be sidelined until mid-March.

Burakovsky suffered a hand injury while blocking a Brendan Smith shot last night and will miss at least one month as a result. Chandler Stephenson will replace Burakovsky on Saturday, but Jakub Vrana will likely be the long-term option because he is a nearly identical player to Burakovsky.

Ullmark, 23, has gone 15-13-1 with a 3.02 GAA and .908 SV% in 29 games with Rochester this season and his recall suggests that there is something wrong with Anders Nilsson as Ullmark and Robin Lehner are the only goalies on the ice this morning.

Chabot, 19, was the No.18 overall pick in 2015, but only appeared in one game during the Senators’ first nine games. Chabot had a tough time cracking the lineup, so he heads back to Saint John, where he had 11 goals and 34 assists (45 points) in 47 games a season ago.

Ullmark was with the Sabres because Robin Lehner was out with an illness. Lehner will return as Anders Nilsson’s backup this afternoon, so Ullmark goes back to Rochester, where he is 3-1-0 with a 2.75 GAA and .926 SV% this season.

Chabot was a healthy scratch in the first three games of the season but he is expected to serve as a seventh defenseman on Tuesday. Chabot was the 18th overall pick in 2015 and is coming off of 45 points (11G / 34A) in 47 games with the Saint John Sea Dogs (QMJHL) last year.

Cousins has registered two assists and two shots on goal in the first two games of the season, but will be replaced by Roman Lyubimov in the lineup tonight.


Giroux was injured in Saturday’s game in Arizona after being hit from behind by Coyotes’ forward Martin Hanzal. He appeared to be knocked out, but will be in the lineup tonight vs. the Jets. Giroux has eight points (4G / 4A) in 12 games in March.



Giroux will miss his second straight game with an upper-body injury. Sean Couturier is expected to return which will help with Giroux out, but they’ll be in tough without their leading scorer. Giroux is considered day-to-day.

Giroux missed Saturday’s game in Toronto and his absence from this morning’s practice suggests that Giroux will miss a second straight game on Tuesday. Thankfully for the Flyers, it looks like Sean Couturier will return to the lineup, which should ease the loss of Giroux.
