Ottawa Senators News

Ullmark will likely start Thursday vs. the Blue Jackets.

Ullmark has appeared in 21 career NHL games but it looks like he will make his season debut tonight vs. Columbus. The Sabres believe Ullmark has a bright future ahead of him, so they’ll give him a shot tonight after he has gone 17-5-1 with a 2.27 GAA, .928 SV% and two shutouts in 26 games with Rochester (AHL). While he might be the Sabres goalie of the future, he will be in tough against Sergei Bobrovsky tonight.

The Sabres have recalled Linus Ullmark from Rochester (AHL).

Ullmark has enjoyed a lot of success at the AHL level this season, going 17-5-1 with a 2.27 GAA and .928 SV% in 26 starts with the Americans. There isn’t believed to be any injuries to either Robin Lehner or Chad Johnson so Ullmark’s call-up is a bit of a head scratcher unless they have something in the works.

Chabot has moved to the Senators top power-play.

The Senators have been terrible this season and their power-play sits at 25th in the NHL (15.9%). Chabot is a gifted young offensive-defenseman and after changing their power-play coach, Chabot becomes the quarterback of the top unit with Erik Karlsson on his left and Mark Stone on his right.

Burakovsky will be a healthy scratch on Saturday.

Burakovsky has struggled since returning from a thumb injury and has picked up just eight points (3G / 5A) in 19 games this season. Burakovsky has game-breaking talent and a great shot but has struggled to find his way early in his NHL career. Tonight he will sit for Chandler Stephenson.

The Blues have recalled Sammy Blais from San Antonio (AHL).

Blais has been up and down many time this season, scoring one goal with two assists in nine games with St. Louis and 14 points (6G / 8A) in 12 AHL games. He will likely draw into the lineup during the Blues home-and-home with the Jets this weekend.

Chabot will be back in the Senators lineup on Friday.

Chabot has been a healthy scratch for the last two games, but will replace Ben Harpur in the lineup tonight vs. the Islanders. Chabot brings a much-needed boost to the Senators offence that has gone cole recently. Chabot has picked up three assists in five games with Ottawa this season.
