Leevi Merilainen will start Tuesday vs. Carolina.

Merilainen was 18-13-7 with a .918 SV% and 2.02 GAA with Karpat (Liiga) this season and has earned his first NHL callup and start Tuesday. The 20-year-old was the Senators' 2020 third-round pick (71 overall) and will be making his NHL debut vs. Carolina, who has won their last two games and are third in the NHL in shots per game (34.9).

Ersson allowed three goals on 30 shots (.900 SV%) for his second-straight loss as he was defeated by the Pittsburgh Penguins in his previous start. The 23-year-old has been decent in his small showing so far this season, with his 6-2-0 record, .899 SV% and 3.07 GAA. He will take on the St. Louis Blues, who have lost their last two games and are 15th in the NHL in goals per game (3.22).

Samuel Ersson has been loaned to Lehigh-Valley (AHL) Friday.

Ersson was 6-1-0 with a .898 SV% and 3.07 GAA and has been loaned back to Lehigh-Valley (AHL) Friday as Carter Hart (lower-body) is expected to rejoin to the team. The 23-year-old returns to the minors, where he is 21-14-1 with a .904 SV% and 2.70 GAA.

Ullmark will start Thursday vs. the Blue Jackets.

Ullmark stopped 21 of 22 shots (.955 SV%) but still snapped a three-game winning streak as he was defeated by the Nashville Predators in his previous start. The 29-year-old has all but locked up the Vezina Trophy this season as he leads all major goaltending categories with his 36-6-1 record, 1.90 GAA and .937 SV%. He will face the Columbus Blue Jackets, who have lost five of their last seven games after a 6-2 loss to the New York Rangers last game.

Thomas Chabot is out week-to-week with an upper-body injury.

Chabot left the Senators' previous game after 18:01 TOI due to an upper-body injury and will now be forced to miss "at least two weeks" as he recovers. The 26-year-old has 11 goals, 30 assists, 165 SOG, 52 PIMs and a -11 plus/minus through 68 games prior to his injury this season.

Samuel Ersson has been recalled from Lehigh-Valley (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Ersson had a 21-14-1 record, .904 SV% and 2.70 GAA with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL) but has been recalled to Philadelphia Tuesday on an emergency basis due to an injury to Carter Hart (lower-body). The 23-year-old returns to the Flyers, where he is 6-1-0 with a .898 SV% and 3.07 GAA.

Jordan Spence has been loaned to the Ontario Reign (AHL).

Spence had an assist, six SOG, and a +3 plus/minus through five games with the Kings but has been loaned back to the Ontario Reign (AHL) on Tuesday. The 22-year-old returns to the Reign, where he had four goals, 37 assists, 30 PIMs and a -14 plus/minus through 50 games so far this season.

The 29-year-old has seemingly locked up the Vezina Trophy because he leads all major goaltending categories with his 36-5-1 record, 1.92 GAA and .937 SV%. He will take on the Nashville Predators, who chose a bad time to lose five of their last seven games and are 28th in the NHL in goals per game (2.76).

Greig has a goal, five assists, 21 SOG, 10 PIMs and a +1 plus/minus through 16 games played and will now be a game-time decision Saturday due to an undisclosed injury. The Senators should provide more of an update by game-time Saturday.

The Senators have signed Tyler Kleven on a three-year, entry-level contract.

Kleven had eight goals, 10 assists, 84 PIMs and a +2 plus/minus through 35 games with the University of North Dakota (NCAA) as has signed a three-year, entry-level contract Thursday, expecting to head directly to Ottawa. The 21-year-old will burn a year of eligibility if he does play for the Senators but is their 2020 second-round pick (44th overall).

Ulmark stopped 29 of 31 shots (.935 SV%) for his ninth win in 10 starts as he easily handled Minnesota his last time out. The 29-year-old is leading Vezina Trophy voting due to him amazingly leading the NHL in wins (34), GAA (1.97), and SV% (.935 SV%). He takes on the Ottawa Senators, who just snapped a five-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over Pittsburgh last night.
