Blais spent the entirety of the 2024-25 season in the AHL, tallying 40 points (14G / 26A) in 51 games with the Abbotsford Canucks. The hard-hitting 29-year-old forward will hope for more exposure at the NHL level after being claimed off waivers on Monday by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Blais' most productive season was in 2022-23 when he scored 25 points (9G / 16A) and recorded 238 hits in 71 outings.

Ottawa added to its defensive depth on Monday after it announced the signing of Cameron Crotty to a two-year, two-way contract. The 26-year-old has appeared in two NHL games with two different organizations (ARI, MIN) since making his debut in 2023-24. He is expected to start 2025-26 in Belleville (AHL) after captaining Iowa (AHL) with 10 assists in 64 games played last season.

Carolina has signed Ryan Suzuki to a one-year, two-way contract extension.

After making his NHL debut in 2024-25 with Carolina, Ryan Suzuki has earned himself a one-year, two-way contract with the Hurricanes to come back to Chicago (AHL) for a sixth season. The 24-year-old was Carolina's 2019 1st round pick (28th overall) and he had 12 goals and 59 points in 69 games with Chicago last season. He is expected to return to the Wolves for the start of the 2025-26 season but will provide Carolina with depth throughout the year.

Ottawa has signed Hayden Hodgson to a two-year, two-way contract.

Hodgson is an undrafted 29-year-old winger who joined the Ottawa Senators organization last season and made enough of an impact to earn himself a two-year, two-way contract extension. He played two games with Ottawa but spent most of the 2024-25 campaign in the AHL, scoring 11 points (5G / 6A) in 43 games with Belleville.
