Igor Shesterkin remains out as he is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.

Shesterkin did not dress for the Rangers' previous game vs. Minnesota and is considered day-to-day with an undisclosed injury after lightly practicing Monday. The injury designation comes with a sigh of relief as the 2022 Vezina Trophy winner is off to a fantastic start in 2023-24, with his 6-2-0 record, .913 SV% and 2.36 GAA.

Adam Fox (lower body) has been placed on the Long-Term Injured Reserve.

Fox left the Rangers' game Thursday vs. Carolina after a hit from Sebastian Aho after 6:01 TOI and has been placed on the Long-Term Injured Reserve Friday. The 25-year-old was enjoying yet another excellent season after finishing at least top three in Norris voting in each of the last three seasons, as he had three goals, eight assists, 15 SOG, and six PIMs in 10 games before his injury. With Fox being placed on Long Term Injured Reserve, he will miss at least 10 games and 24 days for the Rangers.

After a collision with Sebastian Aho of the Carolina Hurricanes, Fox left Thursday's game after playing only 6:01. He is expected to be reevaluated on Friday and would be a crushing loss for the Rangers if he is to miss any time. Fox has 11 points (3G / 8A) while averaging 21:04 time-on-ice through 10 games this season.

Korpisalo will start against the Kings on Thursday.

Korpisalo was on the ball in his previous start as he stopped 41 of 43 shots (.953 SV%) to snap a two-game losing streak as he beat Pittsburgh and will likely take the crease Thursday after occupying the starter's crease at morning skate. After signing a five-year, $20 million contract in the offseason he has struggled early and is 2-3-0 with a .903 SV% and 3.22 GAA. He takes on his old team in Los Angeles, whose offense is in tact as they are currently leading the NHL in goals per game (4.33)

Shesterkin will start in Winnipeg on Monday.

Shesterkin will be the starter for the Rangers on Monday as they face off in Winnipeg against the Jets (-120 road favourites). The 2021-22 Vezina trophy winner has been very pedestrian between the pipes to start the 2023-24 campaign, recording a 2.70 GAA and .900 SV% through six games (4-2-0). As long as he continues to garner wins, the Rangers won't be too particular about the finer details of his game but expect Shesterkin to elevate his game nearer to his career average of 2.39 GAA and .923 SV%.

Korpisalo led the Senators onto the ice for warmups.

Korpisalo allowed three goals on 38 shots in the Senators loss to the Islanders on Thursday. While it was an encouraging performance, Korpisalo still has just one win in four appearances this season. He draws a tough assignment on Saturday in Pittsburgh--the Penguins are top-10 in xGF/60 (3.38) this season.
