New York Rangers News

Quick will start against the Islanders on Thursday.

Igor Shesterkin remains unavailable due to a lower-body injury, so the Rangers will be sticking with Quick between the pipes for Thursday's game against the Islanders. Quick has struggled in Shesterkin's absence, but he did manage to secure a victory in his last start. The 19-year-veteran made 21 saves on 24 shots in a 4-3 overtime win over the Bruins on Monday. Quick brings a 4-11-2 record and an .884 SV% into Thursday night's matchup, where the Rangers enter action at +115 on the money line.

Berard is expected to draw back into New York's lineup vs. the Islanders on Thursday.

Jonny Brodzinski will be a healthy scratch on Thursday, allowing Berard to enter the lineup against the Islanders. Berard went scoreless in 12 games with the Rangers earlier this season, but has spent most of the 2025-26 campaign in the AHL. The 23-year-old forward has 18 points (6G / 12A) in 30 games with Hartford (AHL) this season.

Martin will start on Long Island on Wednesday.

The struggling Rangers are coming off a rare victory, 4-3 in overtime over the Boston Bruins. Still, they will revert from Jonathan Quick to Spencer Martin on Wednesday against the New York Islanders. The 30-year-old Martin played well in his previous outing, but did not receive ample goal support, saving 28 of 31 shots (.903 SV%) in a 3-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks. The Rangers enter Wednesday's contest as +115 road underdogs against the New York Islanders, who defeated them 2-0 last month.

Fox (undisclosed) returned to New York's practice in a non-contact sweater on Wednesday.

Adam Fox is in his second stint on Long-Term Injured Reserve this season, but appears to be nearing a return after practicing in a non-contact jersey on Wednesday. The 27-year-old Fox has had trouble staying healthy, but has been extremely productive when in the lineup, scoring 28 points (4G / 24A) in 30 games. Fox will not be eligible to be activated until the Rangers have two games left before the Olympic Break, and it is unclear whether he is targeting those games.

Quick will start vs. Boston on Monday.

The Kings have struggled immensely since Igor Shesterkin (lower body) was injured, going 1-7-1, failing to receive adequate goaltending from Quick. The 40-year-old veteran Quick was having a solid start to the season in a backup role, posting a 2.14 GAA and .924 SV% in 10 games (3-6-1), but has a miserable 4.32 GAA and .800 SV% in six games since (0-5-1). The Rangers enter Monday's contest as +104 home underdogs against a Boston Bruins team that pummeled them 10-2 earlier this month.

Jonathan Quick
Martin will start in San Jose on Friday.

Martin will get just his third start of the season on Friday when he takes on the Sharks in San Jose. The 30-year-old has struggled when called upon this season in Igor Shesterkin's absence, with his 1-1-0 record, 4.13 GAA and .848 SV%. He'll take on the Sharks in San Jose on Friday, who have won five of their last 8 games.
