The Rangers are 3-8-0 in their last 11 games and will be desperate to right their ship on Friday against the Dallas Stars. Despite an ugly 2-8-0 record in his previous 10 games, Shesterkin has been serviceable between the pipes, albeit not his usual elite self, posting a .904 SV%. He has a 3.04 GAA and .908 SV% in 23 games this season (10-12-1). The Rangers enter Friday's contest as +156 road underdogs against a Stars squad that was defeated 5-3 by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday.

Borgen has just one goal and one assist in 33 games this season with the Kraken but is expected to be able to provide a lot of valuable minutes on a thin Rangers blue-line.

The Rangers have an opening up front after the Kaapo Kakko trade and it looks like the big bruiser Rempe will get the first opportunity to fill it. Victor Mancini was sent down to Hartford in a corresponding move.

Borgen had reportedly been a trade target for the Rangers for quite some time but they had to pay a steep price to acquire his services, parting ways with the former second-overall pick of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft in Kakko. Borgen has just one goal and one assist in 33 games this season with the Kraken but is expected to be able to provide a lot of valuable minutes on a thin Rangers blue-line.

The 25-year-old Vaakanainen was the 18th overall pick of the Boston Bruins in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He played a career-high 68 games with the Ducks last season, tallying 14 points (1G / 13A). Connor Mackey will be a healthy scratch for the Rangers.

Shesterkin has struggled lately, a byproduct of poor team play from the Rangers, but he will return to the crease on Tuesday against the Nashville Predators. The 28-year-old Shesterkin has a 3.08 GAA and .907 SV% in 22 games this season (10-11-1) and has allowed four more goals in four of his last eight (2-6-0), posting an ugly .893 SV%. The Rangers enter Tuesday's contest as +125 road underdogs against a Predators club that has lost nine of their last 10 (1-6-3).

Kaapo Kakko will return from being a healthy scratch on Sunday, swapping places with Brodzinski. The 31-year-old Brodzinski is averaging 10:14 time-on-ice and has four points (2G / 2A) in 15 games this season.
