Florida Panthers News

Bobrovsky is in the starter's crease at Florida's morning skate.

Bobrovsky had a rough performance in his most recent outing, allowing six goals on 31 shots (.806 SV%), but salvaged an overtime victory in a rollercoaster 7-6 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. The 37-year-old veteran goalie will hope for a better outing when he returns to the crease on Wednesday, but his recent stretch of play has been concerning, allowing three or more goals in five of his last seven games (3-3-1), posting a 3.40 GAA and .860 SV%. The Panthers enter Wednesday's contest as slight -108 road favorites against a Utah Mammoth team on a two-game losing skid (0-2-0).

Luostarinen (undisclosed) returned to practice as a full participant on Friday.

Luostarinen suffered burns from an unfortunate non-hockey incident and has been sidelined since mid-November. The 27-year-old Luostarainen was having an excellent season before his injury, scoring 10 points (3G / 7A) and recording 42 hits through 18 games.

Petry will be a healthy scratch vs. Nashville on Thursday.

Petry has a -3 plus/minus while averaging fewer than 13 minutes of ice-time in his last three games and will head to the sidelines as a healthy scratch on Thursday. The veteran defenseman has five assists and a -6 plus/minus through 25 games this season. Donovan Sebrango will draw into the lineup as Petry's replacement.

Bobrovsky will start vs. Nashville on Thursday.

The reigning Stanley Cup Champion Panthers find themselves at the bottom of an ultra-tight Eastern Conference and hope to snap a three-game losing skid on Thursday, turning to Bobrovsky against a Nashville Predators team flirting with last place in the Western Conference. The 37-year-old Bobrovsky was serviceable in his most recent outing, saving 27 of 30 shots (.900 SV%), but did not receive enough goal support in a 4-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Bobrovsky sports a pedestrian 2.89 GAA and .883 SV% through 18 games this season (10-8-0). Still, the Panthers enter the action as -180 home favorites over the Panthers.

Verhaeghe (personal) returned to morning skate on Thursday and is expected to play vs. Nashville.

Verheaghe did not play in Florida's most recent game to attend the birth of his child, but should return to the lineup on Thursday against the Nashville Predators. The 30-year-old Verheaghe has a modest 16 points (4G / 12A) through 24 games this season, but has turned it on lately, with six points (2G / 4A) during a three-game point streak.

Bobrovsky will start vs. Toronto on Tuesday.

The Panthers have lost two straight and will attempt to return to the win column on Tuesday with Bobrovsky between the pipes against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Bobrovsky had an impressive 32-save shutout in a 1-0 win over the New Jersey Devils on November 20th, but has otherwise struggled in recent games, posting a sub-.900 SV% in four of his last five (2-3-0). The 37-year-old veteran netminder has a 2.88 GAA and .882 SV% in 17 games this season (10-7-0). The Panthers enter Tuesday's contest as -150 home favorites against a Maple Leafs team coming off an explosive 7-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

After playing a career-high 47 games with the Vancouver Canucks in the 2022-23 season, Studnicka has only played 22 games since. The 26-year-old forward has predominantly been an AHL player, and has six points (1G / 5A) in eight games with the Charlotte Checkers (AHL) this season.
