Nikita Grebenkin will be a healthy scratch on Saturday against the Edmonton Oilers, allowing Hathaway to re-enter the lineup. The 34-year-old Hathaway is still searching for his first point through 33 games this season.

Gudas missed Anaheim's previous two games due to an illness, but will draw back into the lineup on Friday against the Minnesota Wild. The 35-year-old Czech defenseman has eight points (1G / 7A), 49 blocks, and 94 hits in 27 games this season.

The Devils will hand Markstrom his 20th start of the season when they travel to Toronto on Tuesday. Markstrom was unfortunate to be tagged with the loss in his last start, stopping 23 of the 25 shots he faced in a 2-1 loss on Long Island last Tuesday. Carter Hart has played poorly lately, allowing 10 goals on 50 combined shots (.800 SV%) over his last two games, leading the way for Schmid to start on Wednesday against the Nashville Predators. Schmid was solid in relief of Hart in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild, saving all 15 shots he faced. Beecher will be a rare healthy scratch on Saturday, with Justin Kirkland drawing in to replace him on the fourth line vs. the Oilers. Since joining the Flames, Beecher has picked up two assists in 16 games.

Eller was set to miss his seventh straight game on Saturday, so his move to IR simply created a roster spot for Xavier Bourgault to be recalled from the AHL. Eller is expected to miss at least a couple more weeks with a broken foot.

The Devils are 4-6-0 in their last 10 games and hope to enter the Holiday Break with a victory, turning to Markstrom to tend the twine against the New York Islanders. The 35-year-old Markstrom has been wildly inconsistent this season, posting an ugly 3.40 GAA and .881 SV% in 18 games (9-7-1). That said, the veteran goalie is coming off one of his better outings, saving 32 of 33 shots (.970 SV%) in a 2-1 win over the Utah Mammoth. New Jersey enters Tuesday's contest as -128 road favorites against a New York team on a three-game losing skid (0-2-1).

Alexander Holtz will draw back into the Vegas lineup on Tuesday against the San Jose Sharks, sending Reinhardt to the sidelines as a healthy scratch. The 25-year-old Reinhardt has four points (1G / 3A) in 26 games this season.

The Devils will turn to Markstrom between the pipes for the 18th time this season when they travel to Utah on Friday. Markstrom picked up another loss in his last start, allowing two goals on 15 shots in a 2-1 loss to the Canucks on Sunday. The 36-year-old goaltender owns an 8-7-1 record and a disappointing .874 SV% on the season. The Devils enter action on Friday at +120 on the money line.

Carter Hart has seen most of the action between the pipes lately, but Schmid will return to the crease for the Golden Knights in the front end of a back-to-back on Saturday. The 25-year-old Schmid has been solid when called upon this season, posting a 2.33 GAA and .903 SV% in 17 games (11-2-4).
