Hyman missed the second half of last year's playoffs after enduring an upper-body injury and is not expected to be ready for the start of the 2025-26 regular season. Head Coach Kris Knoblach stated he is hopeful the 32-year-old can return in early November. Hyman is just one season removed from a 54-goal campaign in 2023-24 and will hope to get off to a hot start when he is able to return early in the season.

Minutes after being acquired by Edmonton in a trade with Tampa Bay for Sam O'Reilly, Isaac Howard has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Oilers. The 21-year-old forward was the 2025 Hobey Baker Award winner after putting up 26 goals and 52 points in 37 games with Michigan State University (NCAA). He is expected to be in Edmonton's opening night lineup.

Lazar battled injuries throughout the 2024-25 season with the New Jersey Devils, limited to only 48 games, and will head to Edmonton for a change of scenery in 2025-26. The 30-year-old Lazar scored five points (2G / 3A) with last season, a sizeable decline from the career-high 25 points (7G / 18A) he set in 71 games in 2023-24.

Edmonton's top-six has a new weapon after the Oilers signed Andrew Mangiapane to a two-year deal worth $3.6M AAV ($7.2M total). The 29-year-old left-winger spent the first seven seasons of his NHL career with inter-provincial rival Calgary before joining Washington in 2024-25. During his first season with the Capitals, he had 14 goals, 28 points and 24 PIMs in 81 games played.

Stillman has been an effective depth player for multiple organizations in his six-year career, stepping in when called upon, splitting time between the NHL and AHL. The 27-year-old defenseman has 26 points (4G / 22A) in 163 career NHL games.

Bouchard has established himself as one of the top offensive defensemen in the NHL and has earned a four-year contract extension worth $10.5 million AAV. The 25-year-old Bouchard had 67 points (14G / 53A) in 82 games with the Oilers last season. He has scored an impressive 55 combined points (13G / 42A) in 47 playoff games over the previous two postseasons.

The Oilers acquired Kapanen from the St. Louis Blues via waivers last season and have signed him to a one-year, $1.3 million contract. The 28-year-old Kapanen had 13 points (5G / 8A) in 57 games with the Oilers last season and made an impact in the playoffs, tallying six points (3G / 3A) in 12 games.

The 26-year-old Philp made his long-awaited NHL debut last season, scoring two points (0G / 2A) in 15 games with the Oilers. The undrafted 26-year-old spent most of the 2024-25 campaign in the AHL, tallying 35 points (19G / 16A) in 55 games with the Bakersfield Condors.

Frederic was acquired from the Bruins at the trade deadline but only appeared in one regular season game due to injury. He obviously made an impression on the organization during their postseason run, where he had four points (1G / 3A), 22 SOG and 85 hits in 22 games. The eight-year deal helped keep Frederic's AAV down, but it's a lot of term for a player that was on-pace for just 21 points last season.

Kapanen was a healthy scratch for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final, but he will replace Viktor Arvidsson in the lineup for Game 6. Kapanen has picked up three assists in four games during the series.

Skinner was pulled after along three goals on 17 shots in the Oilers' come-from-behind 5-4 OT win in Game 4. Calvin Pickard started the Game 5 loss, so the Oilers will come back to Skinner in a must-win Game 6 on Tuesday. Skinner has had a tough time in the Stanley Cup Final, posting a 4.20 GAA and .860 SV% in four games.

Pickard was excellent in relief of Stuart Skinner in Game 4, entering the contest in the second period with a 3-0 deficit, saving 22 of 23 shots (.957 SV%) in an eventual 5-4 overtime victory over the Florida Panthers, evening the series at 2-2. Game 5 on Saturday will be Pickard's first start since the second round against the Vegas Golden Knights. The 33-year-old netminder has a 2.69 GAA and .896 SV% in nine appearances this postseason (7-0).

Nugent-Hopkins was also a game-time decision for Game 3 but managed to suit up and play a lower-than-average 15:34 TOI. The 32-year-old former first overall pick has excelled throughout this year's postseason, with five goals, 18 points and a +6 plus/minus in 19 games played.

Skinner was pulled after surrendering five goals on 23 shots in the Oilers' 6-1 loss in Game 3. Skinner has now given up at least three goals in all three games of the series, posting a 3.74 GAA and .866 SV%. Despite a tough Game 3, the Oilers will come back to Skinner in Game 4. He's dominated Game 4s in his career, going 6-0 with a 1.26 GAA, .955 SV% and two shutouts.

Nugent-Hopkins was also a game-time decision for Game 3 but managed to suit up and play a lower-than-average 15:34 TOI and will return to game-time decision status for Game 4 after missing practice for maintenance on Tuesday. The 32-year-old former first overall pick has excelled throughout this year's postseason, with five goals, 18 points and a +6 plus/minus in 19 games played.
