Hyman (upper-body) has been placed on LTIR.

At the beginning of training camp, Head Coach Kris Knoblach stated he is hopeful the 32-year-old can return in early November. Janmark (undisclosed) is still one or two weeks away from returning to Oilers' lineup.

Janmark is expected to start the season on injured reserve, making room on the roster for couple of newcomers to make their Oilers debut on opening night. Depending how players like Ike Howard, David Tomasek, Matthew Savoie, and Noah Philp start the season, Janmark could have a difficult time cracking the Oilers lineup this season.

Walman hasn't officially been ruled out for the season opener, but Oilers' head coach Kris Knoblauch said it's unlikely. With Walman injured, Alec Regula may skate with Darnell Nurse in the season opener.

The Oilers have signed Trent Frederic to an 8-year deal worth $3.85M AAV ($30.8M total).

Frederic was acquired from the Bruins at the trade deadline but only appeared in one regular season game due to injury. He obviously made an impression on the organization during their postseason run, where he had four points (1G / 3A), 22 SOG and 85 hits in 22 games. The eight-year deal helped keep Frederic's AAV down, but it's a lot of term for a player that was on-pace for just 21 points last season.
