McDavid will miss a fifth consecutive game on Tuesday against the Vegas Golden Knights but appears to be inching closer to a return. Few updates have been provided surrounding McDavid's injury but his presence at practice on Tuesday an encouraging sign. After allowing five goals on 29 shots (.828 SV%) in a 6-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken, Pickard responded in his next outing, saving 26 of 28 (.929 SV%) in a 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames. Rodrigue has been recalled from Bakersfield (AHL) on an emergency basis.

With Stuart Skinner battling an upper-body injury, the Oilers have recalled Rodrigue from the Bakersfield Condors (AHL), likely to serve as Calvin Pickard's backup. The 24-year-old Rodrigue has never played an NHL game and has a 3.05 GAA and .899 SV% in 40 games this season (18-15-7) with Bakersfield.
