The Ducks have a back-to-back on Tuesday and Wednesday, so there’s a chance that Gibson could make his season debut tomorrow in Arizona. The 22-year-old has gone 7-4-1 with a 2.63 GAA and .917 SV% in 13 games with San Diego this season.
Chiarot was a minus-2 in 10:05 on Saturday and will be replaced by Adam Pardy tonight in St. Louis.
Copp suffered an upper-body injury injury on Halloween and was held out of Monday’s game. Comp has been placed on IR so the Jets could recall Patrice Cormier from Manitoba (AHL).
Arvidsson, 22, scored one goal in three games with the Predators after making the team out of training camp, but he will head back to the AHL for a little more seasoning. He had 22 goals and 33 assists (55 points) in 70 games with Milwaukee last season.
Larkin, 19, was the Red Wings’ first round pick (15th overall) in 2014 and has made tremendous strides since then. In his freshman year at the University of Michigan, he posted 15 goals and 32 assists (47 points) in 35 games. He decided to turn pro after that and scored five points (3G / 2A) in six playoff games with Grand Rapids. This September he was impressive as well, posting three goals, one assists and 15 shots on goal in five preseason games. This resume of work earned him a spot on the opening night roster and head coach Jeff Blashill said he plans on starting Larkin on a line with Henrik Zetterberg and Justin Abdelkader.
Gibson is expected to start this season in the AHL after the Ducks signed Anton Khudobin this offseason. Gibson was going to become a restricted free agent at the end of the season and Khudobin will become a UFA after this year. Which paves the way for Gibson to be a full-time NHLer next year. However, there is still a chance he is on the Ducks roster throughout this season.
Chiarot, 24, missed a chunk of time after having hand surgery this past season, but he finished his rookie season with eight points (2G / 6A) in 40 games with Winnipeg. In 24 games at the AHL level, he tallied four goals and five assists.
