Gibson, the hottest goalie in the NHL over the previous two months, finds himself on a three-game losing streak (0-2-1), posting a 3.36 GAA and .852 SV%. That said, the 32-year-old Gibson still sports an impressive 2.16 GAA and .923 SV% in his last 22 games (17-4-1). The Red Wings enter Monday's contest as +169 road underdogs against a Colorado Avalanche team that handily defeated them 5-0 on Saturday.




Gibson has been one of the best goalies in the NHL since the beginning of December, but he has lost two straight (0-1-1), allowing five goals on 44 combined shots (.886 SV%). Still, the 32-year-old American goalie boasts an impressive 2.04 GAA and .927 SV% in his last 21 games (17-3-1). He will tend the twine on Saturday against the league-leading Colorado Avalanche, who are currently fighting themselves out of a rut, going 4-5-3 in their last 12 games.

Dries has 26 points (16G / 10A) in 122 career NHL games, but has played exclusively in the AHL since the 2022-23 season. The 31-year-old has 28 points (14G / 14A) in 32 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) this season.

Gibson allowed two goals on 21 shots (.905 SV%) in a 3-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings, a rare loss for the 32-year-old Gibson, who has been near-perfect in recent weeks. The American goalie has only lost three times in his past 20 outings (17-3-0), posting a dazzling 2.05 GAA and .930 SV%. Odds will be in Gibson's favour on Thursday against a Washington Capitals team that has lost six of its last seven games (1-5-1).

Chiarot, in his fourth season with the Red Wings, has been a serviceable top-four defenseman and has earned himself a three-year contract extension. The 34-year-old is averaging 21:07 time-on-ice, recording 11 points (4G / 7A), 109 hits, and 113 blocks in 54 games this season.

Gibson has been outstanding in recent weeks, helping the Red Wings compete for first place in the Eastern Conference, and he will return to the crease on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Kings. Since the beginning of December, Gibson leads all goalies in wins (17), save percentage (.931 SV%), and is second in goals against average (2.00 GAA).

Edvinsson has not played the previous two games for the Red Wings and will remain out through the Olympic Break, hopeful to return at the end of February. The 22-year-old Swedish defenseman has emerged as an effective top-pair defenseman for the Red Wings. He is averaging 22:35 time-on-ice and has 17 points (6G / 11A) in 48 games this season.



Hamonic was a surprise addition on Thursday, slotting in for the injured Simon Edvinsson (lower-body). Hamonic will skate with Axel Sandin-Pellikka on Detroit's third pair.

Talbot and the Wings enter action on Thursday at +135 on the money line.

Perron is averaging only 13:26 time-on-ice, his lowest total since his rookie season in 2007-08, but he has remained productive, with 25 points (10G / 15A) in 49 games. That said,the 37-year-old veteran forward will be sidelined into March because of a sports hernia injury.
