Talbot allowed three goals on 25 shots in the Rangers overtime loss to the Stars on Sunday. He will go again tonight having gone 1-1-1 with a 2.68 GAA and .882 SV% since Henrik Lundqvist was injured. In his first start vs. the Leafs, he allowed five goals on 31 shots in a 5-4 loss—however the Maple Leafs aren’t playing like the same team that they were in November.
Gibson, 21, has gone 6-3-2 with a 2.07 GAA and .935 SV% in 11 games with Norfolk. He has played well at both levels this season and could see the majority of the work while Frederik Andersen (head/neck) is sidelined.

Talbot allowed two goals on 20 shots in the Rangers win over the Bruins on Wednesday. With Henrik Lundqvist sidelined for the next three weeks, Talbot becomes the starter by default and will go tonight in Nashville. He comes into play with a 5-4-1 record, 2.14 GAA and .924 SV% on the year.
Talbot allowed three goals on 32 shots in the Rangers loss to the Bruins on January 15th. Lundqvist was scheduled to start but he is out with an upper-body injury. Talbot will get another shot at Boston tonight, this time at home. Talbot is 2-0-1 with a 0.78 GAA and .972 SV% at Madison Square Garden.
Perron left Monday’s practice early with cold-like symptoms, but he was back on the ice for the Penguins game day skate this morning. He will be a game-time decision along with Kris Letang and Patric Hornqvist.

There is no word on how all four lines will shakeout or who will come out of the lineup, but we do know that Perron will start his Penguins career on a line with Crosby. He leaves the dumpster fire in Edmonton to play with the best player in the World, not a bad deal for Perron. His fantasy value is obviously on the rise.
Perron, who was acquired from the Oilers on Friday, did not play last night vs. Tampa Bay but will play tonight vs. the Canadiens. Because of the back-to-back the Penguins did not have a morning skate, so there is no word on who Perron is going to play with tonight. You would have to think that they will ease him in and they could move him around between Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin to see where he fits best.
The Penguins have battled injuries all season long, so they have shipped a draft pick to a rebuilding team for a top-6 forward. Perron had a career high-28 goals and 57 points last season, but has just 19 points (5G / 14A) in 38 games this season. His fantasy value is certainly on the rise now that he moves from the 27th ranked offence to the sixth best.
Talbot allowed three goals on 34 shots in a loss to the Red Wings back on December 6th. Henrik Lundqvist has started the last five games, but it will be Talbot tonight vs. Carolina. It will be his first start since signing a one-year extension on Friday. He enters play with a 2-3-1 record, 2.34 GAA and .921 SV%.
Talbot, 27, has gone 2-3-1 with a 2.34 GAA and .921 SV% as Henrik Lundqvist backup this season. Over two seasons with the Rangers, he is 14-9-2 with a 1.80 GAA and .936 SV%. He is signed with New York through the 2015-16 season.
Hamonic has missed the last six games with an upper-body injury but will return tonight vs. the Red Wings. Hamonic has three goals and three assists in 21 games this season.
Gibson has been sidelined with a groin injury since October 30th. Since then, the Ducks signed Ilya Bryzgalov to be Frederik Andersen’s backup, which pushes Gibson back to the minors. Whether or not he gets back to the NHL this season will be decided on how he performs in Norfolk and how Bryz does with Anaheim. Regardless, returning to the minors is probably best for the 21-year-olds development.
According to head coach Jack Capuano, Hamonic is “coming along” and there is a “good chance” that he will play on Friday in Detroit. Hamonic has missed the last six games with an upper-body injury.
Gibson was with the team today, but did not practice with them. He went onto the ice after and took shots for the first time since suffering the groin injury. He is still a ways away from being ready, but with the addition of Ilya Bryzgalov, he is expected to go to the AHL anyways.
Hamonic will miss his sixth consecutive game with an upper-body injury. He was on the ice for the Islanders morning skate on Monday, but won’t be back tonight. The Islanders next game is on Friday in Detroit, monitor Hamonic’s status leading up to Friday.
