He stopped 33 of 34 shots in 4-1 win in Colorado just last Thursday.

Tonight, Talbot will make his league leading 42nd start and it will come against a Florida team that ranks 27th in the NHL in scoring (2.28 GF/PG). Talbot has gone 12-8-1 with a 2.33 GAA and .919 SV% on home-ice this season.
Hamonic has missed the last four games with a knee injury and is expected to miss at least a couple more weeks. Interim head coach Doug Weight said that Hamonic is week-to-week, so there’s no firm timetable for the defenseman’s return.

Tonight he is a must-start against the NHL’s worst team. The Avalanche have lost five of six and sit 12 games under .500.

As expected, Hamonic will be held out of tonight’s game vs. the Panthers. Adam Pelech will replace Hamonic on the Islanders’ top pairing with Nick Leddy. Head coach Jack Capuano said that Hamonic is likely to “miss a couple of games,” so don’t expect him to play on Friday or Saturday either.

Hamonic is listed as day-to-day according to head coach Jack Capuano and said that “it doesn’t look like he’ll play [Wednesday]. [Adam] Pelech is going to get a chance.” Monitor Hamonic’s status prior to Friday’s game in Florida.
Hamonic left Saturday’s game with an undisclosed injury and missed today’s practice because of it. He will be re-evaluated later on Monday and should be considered questionable for Wednesday’s game vs. the Panthers.

Tonight will be Gibson’s seventh consecutive start—he has won three of the last six while posting a 1.94 GAA and .933 SV%. He has gone 9-4-1 on home ice and stopped 21 of 22 shots in a 5-1 win in his first start vs. the Coyotes.
