With Alexandar Georgiev expected to be out with the flu, Halverson has been called up to back up Henrik Lundqvist in Ottawa tomorrow.

Rantanen missed Tuesday’s game vs. the Sharks but will be back in tonight in St. Louis. Rantanen has just three assists in his last five games, but re-enters the lineup with 50 points (17G / 33A) in 51 games this season.

Rantanen was a game-time decision and didn’t end up playing last night vs. the Sharks. However the injury doesn’t appear to be serious, so Rantanen is expected to take part in the morning skate and they will make a decision on his status after that.

Rantanen’s status for tonight’s game was iffy on Monday and remains in question as he’s officially listed as a game-time decision. The Avalanche are already without Nathan MacKinnon, so losing two-thirds of their top-line would be a tough pill to swallow. Rantanen is “banged up” so his status for Tuesday’s game is up in the air. Keep an eye on Rantanen’s status during tomorrow’s morning skate, but Colin Wilson is expected to skate with Alexander Kerfoot and Gabriel Landeskog if Ratanen can’t play.

DeSmith had an impressive run with the Penguins, winning three of his last five starts with a 2.03 GAA and .939 SV%. However, with Matt Murray back the Penguins likely want DeSmith to get some playing time so they’ve swapped him with Tristan Jarry, who has been getting playing time in the AHL for the last few weeks.

Capobianco, 20, has 22 points (2G / 20A) in 35 games with the Roadrunners this season and has been recalled to take Jason Demers’ spot on the roster. With Demers on IR, Capobianco could play in his second career game on Thursday.

DeSmith has gone 2-1-0 with a 1.35 GAA and .960 SV% in his previous three games so he earned a fourth straight start tonight. As good as he has been, he will be in tough vs. a Wild team that has won four of their last five.

DeSmith has played 80 minutes with the Penguins this season, stopped 20 of the 24 shots (.833 SV%) that he faced. During his time with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton he has gone 12-5-1 with a 2.53 GAA and .915 SV%. DeSmith’s recall suggests that something is up with Matt Murray or Tristan Jarry.

Duchene was listed as questionable on Monday and remains that way as he tries to get over the flu. Duchene missed the morning skate, which isn’t a good sign for his availability but the Senators will see how the afternoon goes. If he can’t play, look for Mark Borowiecki (concussion) to replace him as a seventh defenseman.
