Oettinger will start vs. Edmonton on Thursday.

Oettinger has been largely inconsistent this season, but is coming off a tremendous effort in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights, saving 26 of 27 shots (.963 SV%). Despite his less-than-stellar statistics, the 27-year-old Oettinger hasn't been a detriment to the Stars' winning ways, winning nine of his last 10 outings (9-0-1) while posting a 2.55 GAA and .886 SV%. The Stars enter Thursday's contest as -125 home favourites against an Edmonton Oilers team coming off an impressive 4-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche.

Hintz (lower-body) will not require surgery and is hopeful to return for the playoffs.

Hintz returned from a multi-game absence due to an illness on Friday, but exited the 5-4 shootout loss to the Colorado Avalanche in the second period due to a lower-body injury. Stars' Head Coach Glen Gulutzan did not provide specific details about Hintz' injury but stated that the forward will not require surgery and that they hope he will return before the playoffs. The 29-year-old Hintz has 44 points (15G / 29A) in 53 games this season.

Roope Hintz
Rantanen (lower-body) skated on Monday and is hoping to return in 2-3 weeks.

Rantanen did not play in Finland's Bronze Medal victory over Slovakia at the Olympics and has been sidelined since the NHL resumed action. Rantanen has already missed six games and will likely miss at least two more weeks. The 29-year-old is having an outstanding first full season with the Stars, scoring 69 points (20G / 49A) in 54 games.
