Landeskog hasn't played since January 26th when he was hit hard by Sharks defenceman Brad Stuart and suffered multiple injuries. The Avalanche need him back but aren't going to rush their young captain. It appears as if he is still at least a week away from returning.

Burns had been skating as an extra at practice but was paired with Stuart today which indicates he is nearing a return. He could suit up tomorrow for the Sharks, but nothing is official. Check back tomorrow for an official word on Burns.

Burns still isn't quite ready for a return but should be back in the next couple of weeks.

This will be the second game in a row that Landeskog has missed due to injuries sustained on the big hit he took from Sharks defenceman Brad Stuart.

Still no timetable for Burns return, but the fact that he is skating again is a step in the right direction.

Burns continues to rehab, but when he will be back on the ice is unknown. The Sharks are on a tear right now so I don't foresee them rushing Burns back and risk him re-injuring himself. For now just monitor his status going forward, and pick him up accordingly if he is still available.

Landeskog took a big hit from San Jose D-man Brad Stuart on Saturday. He only has one goal on the year, and it is unknown how long he'll be out but it doesn't appear to be serious.

Nelson turns pro after scoring 28 goals and 47 points in 42 games with the U. of North Dakota.

You may have gotten a good look at Wedgewood as the starting goalie for Team Canada during the WJHC. He is probably the best internal option to replace Martin Brodeur at this juncture.

Landeskog probably doesn't play tonight after being held out of practice. The rookie has 18 goals and 43 points in 70 games.

Expect Burns to take his regular shift on the second defensive pairing. He has seven goals and 17 points through 46 games.

Expect Burns to miss at least tonight's game. In his first season with the Sharks, the Ajax, Ontario native has seven goals and 17 points through 46 games.

Sounds like Landeskog needed a maintenance day. Even though he only has five goals and 10 points through 23 games, the rookie has contributed at all ends of the ice.

Landeskog moves back onto the second line with Ryan O'Reilly and Daniel Winnik. His five goals rank fifth on the team.

Burns has struggled at times adapting to his new system. Through his first 13 games he scored three goals but only added two helpers. Look for him to continue these growing pains in the early going.

Landeskog should stick on the second line all season as he continues to wow on the ice.

Burns was apparently nervous in his first game with the Sharks but still finished with an assist. Look for him to approach career highs in his first season in teal, especially if he develops chemistry with the rest of his linemates.

Certainly a good sign for those invested in the 2nd overall pick. Landeskog captained the Kitchener Rangers last season, leading them in goals with 36 and finishing third on the team with 66 points in 53 games. He remains a front-runner for the Calder Memorial Trophy in the preseason.
