Rizzo was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the seventh round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. The 24-year-old Rizzo has never played an NHL game and has spent the entire 2025-26 season in the ECHL, where he has 22 points (6G / 16A) in 29 games with the Reading Royals.
Rizzo was drafted 216th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes and has earned himself an entry-level contract after three seasons of collegiate hockey. The 22-year-old forward amassed 44 points (10G / 34A) in 30 games with the University of Denver this season.
Rizzo had 17 goals, 29 assists, 14 PIMs and a +24 plus/minus through 38 games with the University of Denver (NCAA) in 2022-23 and has had his rights traded alongside a 2025 fifth-round pick to the Philadelphia Flyers for the rights to David Kase. The 22-year-old centre has improved his prospect status exponentially after being drafted in the seventh-round of the 2019 NHL Draft (216th overall) by the Flyers.
