The Kings have signed Kurtis MacDermid to a two-year contract extension worth $1.75 million ($875K AAV).
MacDermid was set to become an RFA this offseason but signed an extension that takes him through the 2022 season. MacDermid set career-highs in games played (45), goals (3), assists (5) and points (8) in his third season with the Kings.
The NHL has suspended MacDermid for two games for an Illegal Check to the Head on Ivan Provorov.
MacDermid will be a healthy scratch on Saturday.
MacDermid played in the last two games but will be replaced by Paul LaDue in the lineup on Saturday.

MacDermid has been in the Kings lineup for the last nine games, but failed to record a point while posting a minus-7 rating. Overall he had just one goal and three assists in 34 games with the Kings, so he will head to Ontario to get some seasoning.
