Sanderson left the Senators' previous contest vs. Detroit on January 31st after just 4:49 TOI due to a lower-body injury and will be out Saturday as Ottawa plays Toronto. The 21-year-old sophomore has taken a step forward across all aspects of his game in his second season and has seven goals, 24 points, 99 SOG, 19 PIMs and a +5 plus/minus in 47 games prior to his injury.

Sanderson enjoyed a very successful rookie season in 2022-23 as he finished his inaugural campaign with four goals, 28 assists, 132 SOG, 12 PIMs, and a -6 plus/minus through 77 games played and has signed an eight-year, $64.4 million ($8,050,000 AAV) contract extension. The 21-year-old defenseman was Ottawa's 2020 1st round-pick (5th overall) and is expected to take a massive leap forward in his sophomore campaign.

Sanderson last played on February 11th due to an upper-body injury and has been activated off the injured reserve Thursday. The 20-year-old rookie has three goals, 18 assists, 85 SOG, six PIMs and a -3 plus/minus through 51 games prior to his injury.

Sanderson is set to miss his third straight game on Friday, and he's expected to be out until the Senators' back-to-back vs. the Red Wings on February 27th/28th. The 20-year-old has three goals, 21 points and a -3 plus/minus across 51 games in his rookie campaign.
