Jacob Trouba News

The NHL has suspended Jacob Trouba for two games for his hit on Mark Stone.

Trouba had a high-hit on Stone on Sunday and will miss this Tuesday’s game vs. Toronto and next Tuesday’s game vs. the Wild as a result. Stone left the game with an injury and did not return. Julian Melchiori will fill in for Trouba, unless Toby Enstrom is suddenly ready to return.

The Jets have signed Jacob Trouba to a two-year deal worth $6 million ($3.0M AAV).

After holding out of training camp and the first month of the season, the Jets were finally able to sign restricted free agent Jacob Trouba to a two-year deal. Trouba is regarded as one of the best young defenseman in the NHL and signing him is huge for the Jets' success in 2016-17. Trouba had 21 points (6G / 15A) in 81 games with the Jets last season.

The Jets have activated Jacob Trouba (upper-body) from IR; will play tonight.

Trouba has missed the last 16 games with an upper-body injury, but will return tonight vs. the Blue Jackets. Trouba has registered 12 points (4G / 8A) with a plus-3 rating in 31 games before getting hurt. He will replace Mark Stuart in tonight’s lineup.

Trouba (upper-body) was a full participant in Jets practice on Tuesday.

For the first time since suffering an upper-body injury back on December 13th, Trouba took line rushes in practice this morning. This is a positive sign that Trouba could be available for tomorrow’s game vs. the Blue Jackets. However, with the All Star break looming, the Jets could elect to rest Trouba for another week.

Trouba (upper-body) took part in the Jets morning skate; won’t play tonight though.

Trouba, who is supposed to be out until February, skated in a regular jersey at the Jets morning skate. Ditching the no-contact sweater is a good sign that Trouba is nearing a return and that he could be back before February.

Trouba (upper-body) will be out until February.

Trouba, who missed practice on Monday was listed as “probable” but will now apparently miss at least the next month and a half. The Jets blue line has been decimated, they head into Tuesday’s game without Trouba, Zach Bogosian and Tobias Enstrom, their three biggest minute eaters.

Trouba (undisclosed) is probable for Tuesday’s game vs. Buffalo.

Trouba missed practice on Monday, but is expected to be in the lineup tomorrow. The Jets already have a ton of holes on the blue line because of injuries, so missing Trouba would be a huge loss. He has two goals and six assists in his last nine games.

Trouba (neck) has been off injured reserve and will play tonight vs. the Devils.

Trouba missed just over a month after straining his neck on October 18. The 19-year-old defenseman recorded a goal and an assist with a minus-3 rating in his first eight games. He has tremendous offensive upside evidenced by his 12 goals and 29 points in 37 games with the University of Michigan in 2012-13. He is expected to pair up with Grant Clitsome on the Jets blueline tonight and will likely skate close to 20 minutes every night. He is worth an add in deep leagues and is a good keeper league option.

Jacob Trouba will be a game time decision Monday vs Devils.

Trouba has been out since mid October with a neck strain. The 2012 9th overall pick, recorded two points in the season opener, but failed to record a point in the other seven games he skated in. Trouba was averaging 21:16 TOI in his first eight games and is expected to see the same workload when he gets back up to speed. He has a lot of offensive upside and is worth waiver consideration, especially in keeper leagues.

Trouba (neck) is progressing but coach Claude Noel thinks it could still be a week or so before he joins Jets' practices.

Trouba has been sidelined since October 18th after being stretchered off of the ice following a head-first collision with the boards. The neck sprain he suffered had him in a neck brace for a couple weeks, but he is almost fully recovered and ready to rejoin the Jets. Trouba was drafted ninth overall in 2012 and has a bright NHL future ahead of him, but at this point in his career he is only a fantasy consideration in deep keeper and dynasty leagues.
