With David Pastrnak (undisclosed) and Pavel Zacha (undisclosed) added to a growing list of noteworthy injured players for the Bruins, Georgii Merkulov and Riley Tufte will draw into the lineup on Friday against the New York Rangers. The 25-year-old Merkulov has spent the entirety of the 2025-26 season campaign in the AHL, scoring 14 points (6G / 8A) in 17 games.


Merkulov is an undrafted 24-year-old forward that has predominantly been an AHL player. He recorded one point (0G / 1A) in six NHL games with Boston last season and was dominant in the AHL, tallying 54 points (15G / 39A) in 59 games with the Providence Bruins.

Merkulov has only played 10 career NHL games, scoring one point (0G / 1A), and has been re-assigned to the AHL. The undrafted 24-year-old has 44 points (13G / 31A) in 47 games with the Providence Bruins (AHL) this season.


Meruklov played three games with Boston earlier this season, recording one assist, but has spent most of the 2024-25 campaign in the AHL. The 24-year-old forward has an impressive 44 points (13G / 31A) in 47 games with the Providence Bruins this season.

After a short three-game showing which saw him grab one assist and average 13:44 TOI, Georgii Merkulov has been reassinged to Providence (AHL) in exchange for Marc McLaughlin. Georgii returns to Providence where he excelled early in the season prior to his call-up, with two goals and 11 points in 12 games played.


Merkulov has enjoyed a strong start to his AHL season, tying for the team lead with 11 points (2G / 9A) in 12 games. The Bruins are looking to add some offence to their lineup, so Merkulov could make his season debut. He failed to record a point in four NHL games a season ago.
